Growing up in the snow-deprived southeastern United States, Randy Jones didn't get much of an opportunity to pick out a top hat for a snowman, chuck icy snowballs at his friends or race down the backside of a hill on a greased-up plastic sled.

At least not often enough.

But when it did happen, what a day it was. Jones would scour his garage, looking for scrap pieces of cardboard, metal, an unused box or even a broken-down door, in hopes of building his own sled.
