Rodgers: We want to give Sterling a break

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said he will look to give teenage winger Raheem Sterling a rest in the near future.

Sterling has powered into the spotlight this season, with his Premier League displays for the Merseysiders earning him international recognition with England.

Rodgers feels Sterling can cope physically with the demands of regular top-flight action, but is concerned by the mental effect that regular play is having on him.
