Roar's Broich gets red card overturned

Brisbane Roar playmaker Thomas Broich is free to play in Sunday's A-League clash with Western Sydney after having his red card from the win over Newcastle overturned.

The A-League's match review committee ruled on Monday referee Brenton Hayward was wrong to send off Broich in Friday night's match for what looked only incidental contact with Jets defender Josh Mitchell.

It means the German midfielder avoids the mandatory one-match suspension given for red cards.
