Reds ready to sell Downing

Stewart Downing has been told he can leave Liverpool in January as manager Brendan Rodgers seeks to raise money to add to his squad.

Downing has not started a Premier League game since the 3-0 defeat at West Brom on August 18 and does not feature in Rodgers' long-term plans. The manager has publicly questioned the England winger's attitude this season, declaring in September that talent alone would not save his Anfield career.
