Crook quits as Sydney FC coach

Sydney FC coach Ian Crook quit fearing for his health as an A-League counterpart said "vile" social media was heaping untoward pressure on coaches.

Crook's dramatic resignation on Sunday overshadowed Central Coast Mariners stealing top spot with a precious 1-0 away win in Wellington.

The Mariners head the league on goal difference from Adelaide United, who drew 1-1 at home against Perth Glory on Sunday.
