Spanish stars Santi Cazorla, Juan Mata and Michu have put their hands into their pockets in an effort to save their former club from financial crisis.

Real Oviedo, who currently play in the Spanish third division, are in danger of going out of business if they do not raise €2 million in the next fortnight.

The Premier League midfielders have all purchased shares to help raise the money needed to rescue the club at which they started their careers.
