Jiracek out for rest of the year

Hamburg midfielder Petr Jiracek has been ruled out for the rest of the year with a groin injury.

Jiracek, 26, has had a run of bad luck since joining the club in a €4 million deal from Wolfsburg in the summer.

In only his second match for Hamburg the Czech Republic international was sent off and lost his place in the starting line-up. On his return to the team he picked up a groin injury, which has now been diagnosed as an inflammation of the pubic joint.
