Mohamed bin Hammam ban extended

ZURICH -- FIFA has banned former presidential candidate Mohamed bin Hammam for a further 45 days while bribery and financial mismanagement allegations are investigated.

FIFA says its ethics judge, Joachim Eckert, extended a 90-day provisional ban that was imposed in July to prevent the Qatari official working in football.

Bin Hammam's lifetime ban was overturned in July by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which suggested FIFA's prosecutor Michael Garcia could seek new evidence ...
