A long weekend of consumption awaited, and Bavaria's capital was ready for them. Having held an Olympic Games and a World Cup final in the 1970s, and a modern World Cup in 2006, it is a city more than capable of assimilating a huge event such as this, even when it holds such high stakes for the city and state.
