Draxler handed Germany chance

Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler was the surprise inclusion in Germany coach Joachim Low's provisional squad for Euro 2012.

Draxler, 18, was the only uncapped outfield player in Low's 27-man squad, which he will reduce to 23 by May 25.

Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen was also included as one of four goalkeepers, while Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker was named despite him having missed the latter stage of the domestic season with an ankle injury.
