Panucci leaves role at Palermo

Christian Panucci has resigned as technical director of Serie A side Palermo.

Panucci, the 39-year-old former Italy defender, only took up the role last month, but has stepped down following what the club described as a "misunderstanding" over comments made by president Maurizio Zamparini.

A club statement read: "Our technical director Christian Panucci has resigned due to a misunderstanding of statements made by president Maurizio Zamparini, which were incorrectly reported ...
