Beckham survives Team GB Olympic cut

LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham remained on course for a place at London 2012 after being named in Stuart Pearce's 80-man shortlist for the Team GB squad at the Olympic football tournament.



Pearce has whittled down his initial long list of 191 players to just 80, with Beckham surviving the cut alongside the likes of Lille midfielder Joe Cole and Welsh pair Craig Bellamy and Gareth Bale.
