It was an exciting FA Cup quarter-final and now Arsene Wenger's men must do it all again as they push for honours on three fronts - not what the Gunners wanted.
Chelsea have fought back for a 2-2 draw at Highbury and Arsenal now face a tough trip to Stamford Bridge.
....The keeper recovers to palm the shot away, Chelsea hoof the ball towards the touchline and the final whistle blows.
..Van Bronckhorst strikes it with power. Morris sticks out a foot, deflects the shot and wrong foot Cudicini who has started to move to his left.....
Chelsea scramble to clear their lines. Lampard over commits himself and gives away a freekick in the centre of goal, 22-yards out......
De Lucas cuts out a Campbell throughball, rebounds it off Toure's legs and wins a goalkick for the Blues.
Arsenal swarm around the Chelsea area. Parlour fires off a 22-yard shot that whistles over the bar and Cudicini is happy to take his time over the goalkick.
Lampard finds space in the midfield. He loks up to see Hasselbaink making a run but he overhits the pass and Seaman claims.
Toure drives at the Blues defence and this time it's Melchiot who makes a last ditch tackle as Arsenal push for a winner.
...Terry slides in with an excellent challenge and Chelsea clear their lines.
Arsenal aren't done yet as Parlour sets himself for a shot from the edge of the box....
It's all square now. Chelsea have fought their way back into the match.
....Campbell goes to ground, Lampard swings a foot at the ball and it squirms past Seaman and into the back of the net. GOAL!!!!
Melchiot flicks the cross on and Arsenal can't clear. There is a melee in the goalmouth as red and blue shirted players hack at the ball....
....The Dutch striker hammers off a shot but Keown sticks out a leg, deflects it wide and Chelsea have a corner.
De Lucas takes a pass in space. He turns towards goal and plays the ball into Hasselbaink....
....The youngster sets himself for the shot but blasts it high and wide from 18-yards.
Lauren goes on a forward foray. He plays the ball inside to Wiltord, who flicks the ball on for Toure.....
De Lucas finds some space on the right and hits a near post cross. No striker has taken the gamble and the ball skips of the turf into Seaman's grasp.
Hasselbaink's frustration boils over and he scythes down Lauren. He escapes a booking but the defender needs some treatment.
Arsenal make another change. Henry goes off and on comes Toure.
Gudjohnsen hits a throughball on the turn but Seaman rushes off his line to thwart Hasselbaink.
Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen work a short corner but Edu blocks the cross and another chance goes begging for the Blues.
He chips it to the back post instead and Gallas powers a free-header over the bar.
Hasselbaink draws a foul and Chelsea have a shooting chance from the freekick.
Campbell makes a hash of a clearence and Chelsea are gifted with a corner. But the cross is so high it comes down with snow on.
Gallas hacks down Pires and Chelsea make a change. Off go Petit and Gronkjaer and on come Gudjohnsen and De Lucas.
Hasselbaink is lost up front. The ball is pumped towards him but he is out numbered and Keown makes the tackle.
Chelsea's Petit is working hard against his old club but one man can't stem the flow of Arsenal's attacks.
Pires decides it's his turn to shoot and blast the ball over the bar and into the cheering fans.
Chelsea only have one man up and the ball just keeps come back at the Blues defence.
...Henry sets himself for the shot and but Gronkjaer has recovered to make the tackle.
Henry knicks the ball from Gronkjaer and sprints goalwards. Babayaro dives into a tackle on the edge of the box and the striker skips past him and into the box......
Arsenal make a change. Off goes Jeffers and Ljungberg and on come Wiltord and Pires.
....The Swede attempts an inswinging shot but the keeper is equal to it.
Ljungberg cuts in from the byline and spots Cudicini off his line.......
...Babayaro sets himself for the shot but slices his volley into the stands.
Gronkjaer looks up for the cross. He decides against it and back-heels it down the line. The resulting cross is headed clear as far as Babayaro.......
Chelsea break with Hasselbaink. The Dutchman backs Kewon into the box and then spoons his shot into row Z. What a waste.
...Edu's shot drifts wide of Cudicini's righthand post.
Edu dispossess Petit and breaks. He plays a one-two with Henry and sets himself for a 20-yard shot.....
Henry opts to take the corner and hits it straight out of play.
Henry whips the ball in from the right and Terry is forced to concede a corner at the back post - under pressure form Edu.
...the dutch striker hits his shot straight at Seaman, who makes the save.
Petit gets his toe to the ball and nicks it off Edu on the edge of his own box. Hasselbaink pounces on the loose ball and sets himself to shoot....
Gronkjaer chips the ball over the defence for Babayaro to chase...he can only win a throw.
Hasselbaink wins a freekick off Ljungberg on the right of the Arsenal box.
Henry tries to juggle the ball in midfield but Zenden, who has had an immediate impact, easily tackles the striker.
Ljunberg sprints at the Chelsea defence. He manages to drive into the box before losing his footing and hitting a tame shot as he tumbles to the turf.
Jeffers helps the ball across the box to Parlour. The midfielder sets his sights and optimisticly hits a shot from wide right. Easy for Cudicini
Hasselbaink skirts the edge of the box and flicks the ball through to Zenden but Keown is there to cut it out.
Lampard wins the ball in midfield and Chelsea break. The England international plays the ball behind Zenden and the move breaks down.
Chelsea get the second-half underway and Zenden has come on to replace Zola.
The defending was laughable for both Arsenal goals and the Blues now have a tough task to get back into this game.
Chelsea took an early lead and have only themselves to blame for going in 2-1 down at the break.
Arsenal take the lead in injury time as the half-time whistle blows.
...Cudicini races off his line to make the tackle but Henry spins past him and slots the ball into an open goal. GOAL!!!!
Henry breaks the offside trap, thanks to Gallas, and races onto a long ball from Vieira....
Melchiot launches a long throw down field. Zola cheekily flicks the ball on but Hasselbaink has not read the move and is caught flat footed.
Hasselbaink wins a corner of Campbell but Petit fails to beat the first man with the cross.
...his strike hits Keown and ricochets to Morris, who slips on the edge of the box and the chance goes begging.
Gronkjaer manages to pass the ball to a teammate, from a throw, and Zola has space for a shot....
Arsenal are applying the pressure until Ljungberg hits a long-range shot well wide.
....Cudicini rushes out. Henry curls the ball around the keeper but his shot strikes the post and bounces clear.
The French striker beats the offside trap and gallops into the box, leaving Melchiot in his wake.....
Arsenal have an equaliser, if somewhat luckily, and Henry is on the charge again.
......Jeffers sneaks in and blasts the ball into the open net from 5-yards. GOAL!!!!!
Ljungberg shoots from a tight angle but Cudicini manages to palm the ball away. Babayaro has a chance to clear but gets the ball stuck in his feet......
Ljungberg mis-controls and the ball trickles bounces off two Blues defenders and into the box.
Arsenal break quickly with Henry, who cuts the ball back for Ljungberg...
Hasselbaink and Campbell race after a throughball. Campbell shows impressive pace and strength to muscle the striker of the ball.
Zola loses possession and then hauls down Van Bronkhorst for a foul.
Van Bronckhorst has a shot and Cudicini makes a good save. The ball bounce loose in the box and Petit clears after accidentally handling the ball.
Arsenal have the freekick moved forward to the edge of the box for Morris' blast at the ref.
Ljungberg wins the ball on the flank. Vieira skips past Morris and the midfielder brings him down. Morris gets booked.
Henry fakes Petit and slots the ball in the box for Jeffers, who can't control it under pressure and, as he has no opportunity to hit the deck, loses possession.
Van Bronkhorst delivers the cross. Campbell climbs all over Terry and the ref blows for a freekick.
Ljungberg wins a freekick on the leftwing.
....The Blues midfielder hits his shot into the ground and Keown hooks it clear.
Chelsea are on the attack with Zola on the wing. The little magician bamboozles two defenders, cuts inside and plays the ball in the box for Morris.....
Justice was done there.
...Cudicini leaps the right way and turns the ball past the post. Great save.
Henry steps up to take the spot kick. He hits it low to his left......
...Jeffers must get booked for that dive. No! the ref has amazingly pointed to the spot for a penalty and shown Cudicini the yellow card.
Jeffers races into the box with only Cudicini to beat.....oh dear! Jeffers goes to ground as the keeper rushes of his line......
Gronkjaer sets off on another excellent pacey run. But when he gets chance to cross it all goes wrong again.
Jeffers spreads play to the right. Parlour looks to for the return ball but Babayaro cuts it out and also prevents the corner.
Ljungberg tries to go around Melchiot but runs out of pitch and ends up on his arse. He is still lacking match fitness.
Zola takes it himself. The Italian curls a shot straight at Seaman, who saves with ease.
Zola draws a lunging foul from Edu, who gets booked, and Chelsea have a freekick.
Henry wants a penalty - not a chance.
Henry uses his pace to trouble the Blues defence. He drives into the box from the left but a combination of Gallas and Cudicini clear.
Gronkjaer flies down the wing but, as usual, his cross is pathetic.
Hasselbaink hassles Keown and Campbell. The Arsenal defenders panic under pressure and pass back to Seaman.
Lauren plays a long-range one-two with Parlour but Babayaro makes the tackle on the right touchline.
Seaman slows the pace of the game as he takes his time over a goalkick.
Cudicini fails to collect a freekick and the ball ricochets around a crowded penalty are before being hoofed clear by the Blues.
Babayaro makes a double interception from Parlour and Lauren as Arsenal look to apply some pressure.
Henry looks for Jeffers but his cross from the left tempts Cudicini off his line and the keeper collects.
Lauren attacks down the right. He hits a hopeful cross that Morris blocks and Cudicini collects on his goalline.
A great start for Chelsea, that has stunned the Highbury faithful.
.......Arsenal push out too late. Terry is free at the back post and heads past a sprawling Seaman. GOAL!!!!
Chelsea play it short to Gronkjaer, who chips the ball to the back post.....
Keown slips and Zola pounces on the loose ball. Lauren forces the Italian wide and Seaman saves his strike at the near post at the expense of a corner.
Van Bronckhorst, in for the injured Cole at leftback, gets an early touch and plays the ball down the line for Henry.
Arsenal get the game underway inside a noisy Highbury.
Chelsea are without Marcel Desailly and Graeme Le Saux. Emmanuel Petit returns to the side, while Gianfranco Zola replaced Eidur Gudjohnsen up front alongside Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has rested several first-team. Dennis Bergkamp and Gilberto Silva were both omitted, while Robert Pires and Sylvain Wiltord started off on the bench.
