It looked all over when Maksim Shatskikh put Kiev in front, but the Magpies showed their character to hit back through Gary Speed and Alan Shearer
A great win for Newcastle, but they travel to Rotterdam to play Feyenoord next week knowing they must pick up another victory to stand a chance of making the next stage

Kiev sprang a major surprise by naming dangerman
Florin Cernat, who Sir Bobby Robson had man-marked at the Olympic Stadium, on the bench in one of four changes to the side which won that game 2-0. Yuriy Dmytrulin, Valentin Belkevich, Badr El Kaddouri and Goran Gavrancic all win recalls.
Kieron Dyer, who has missed the last two games with a back injury, is named only among the substitutes - but Nolberto Solano shakes off an ankle knock. Titus Bramble, who impressed
against Juventus in the absence of the suspended Nikos Dabizas, retained his place.
