Referee: A Taylor
What a horrible night for Ivanovic though. Schoolboy errors really and he will bear the brunt of the backlash. Michael Laudrup will be delighted.
A huge effort from the Swans though to be fair. They have kept Chelsea at bay and have deserved it despite hardly having a kick. Their gameplan worked and now they have one foot at Wembley.
FULL-TIME CHELSEA 0-2 SWANSEA. A incredible win for the Swans. Two horrible errors from Ivanovic and they get the advantage. The Blues must feel mugged
An incredible finish to the match. In the space of a few minutes we've almost had a penalty and two goals. As it is, we've only had one.
Ba gets the ball into the net! What a finish. Lampard chipped the ball in and Ba converted, but he was offside.. by about an inch.
2-0 was not on the cards!! And both goals have come because of Ivanovic.
Wow! What an error.. he's had a horror show tonight. Ivanovic didn't look before passing to Turnbull and Graham nipped in, rounded him, and slotted it home.
GOAL Ivanovic again with a mistake and Graham gets the goal!
No, a booking for Ba. The ref seems to think Ba wanted a penalty too much.
Surely a penalty! The ball broke and Ba raced on to it. Tremmel came out and missed it, Ba went over.
Azpilicueta has a go from distance. It flies over. Somebody needs to tell the Blues' defenders that they are not Roberto Carlos.
Graham is putting himself about up front for Swansea and keeps the defenders busy.
Cole crosses, but a combination of Davies and Chico hammer it clear. The pressure is still building.
He's making an impact for sure. Swansea are just looking to close out the game and if they can keep Ba quiet then they might manage it.
Marin gets another cross in and Ba leaps, gets his head on it again, but the ball flies just wide of the post.
More of an aerial threat with Ba on, but Chelsea need something quickly!
Ivanovic chips the ball in and Ba gets the better of Williams in the box. His header isn't powerful enough to beat Tremmel though, and he catches it.
Luiz getting desperate and has a go from 30 yards. It flies well over and gives the ball back to Swansea.
Possession time for Chelsea once more, but it needs to end with some end product and not fizzle out like before.
Swansea have a sub as well. Michu off, Graham on up front.
Oscar comes off, Marin comes on.
Lampard has a go from 25 yards. It was hit well, but straight at Tremmel who claimed it with ease.
Seemed like there was a massive cheer from the Chelsea fans there. Not sure if it was aimed at Torres coming off, or Ba coming on.
Torres off, Ba comes on.
Azpilicueta gets behind his man again and has a chance to cross. Again, it's not good enough and Williams clears well.
Williams just manages to get the ball away in time before Torres closes him down. Is that the striker's last act before Ba arrives?
Ba is now warming up for Chelsea - too late?
Ki gets space and slots it through to Michu, who buries it in the net. But he was a yard or so offside.
Oscar gets the ball in, a great ball into the box, and Tremmel opts to clear with his legs which is a little odd.
Michu is still ploughing his lone furrow up front and is doing a good job of pressuring the defence. He has so little to work with.
Pass, pass, pass and Mata eventually lifts it in to Ivanovic who slides to reach the ball, but fails.
Lampard is seeing lots of the ball, but there's not a lot happening ahead of him to make space. Swansea still defending in numbers and it's all a bit congested.
Chico and Williams are forward, but it's cleared by Luiz.
Michu sees some space and draws the foul from Ivanovic well. For the first time in a long time, Swansea have a chance to get into the Blues' box.
'Super Frank' is on to try and change things, but Ba remains benched for the time being.
Ramires off, Lampard on
Oscar tries to get the ball across, but Hernandez tracks back and gets the block in. It's one-way traffic now.
Davies now does foul Hazard, and Mata has a chance to swing the ball in. He does, but it is so wasteful and flies well over.
After a corner the ball breaks to Ramires on the edge of the box - his fluffed shot is indicative of the Blues' attack at the moment.
Rangel comes across and gets the ball off Hazard with a push.. no foul though.
Chelsea starting to resort to long ball tactics, which is not ideal with Torres leading the line. They do need a Plan B.
Torres is lurking at the back post as a ball is lifted into the box. He's drifted in and out of the game though and, once again, Lampard is warming up.
Oscar is robbed as a game of 'who wants the ball' develops in the middle of the pitch. Ki is eventually fouled, but Chelsea soon have it back again.
Routledge off, Tiendalli on.
As a fan enters the pitch, Swansea are readying a sub or two.
Azpilicueta gets away from his man, but his cross doesn't beat Davies.
Swansea get a chance, when Ki robs Ramires, but can't flick the ball over to Michu. Both sides playing a high line so there is plenty of space.
Really good stop from the goalkeeper. He has been a good last line of defence.
Good passing move from Chelsea. Mata and Hazard lead the efforts and Mata cuts inside in the box - the ball bobbles and Luiz comes onto it. His shot is hard and low, but Tremmel is in the right place and holds on to it.
Torres finding space in the wide areas, but his two crosses - one high; the other low - do not find a blue shirt.
Luiz gets it through the wall and it dips dangerously. It lands a yard wide, but Tremmel was worried.
Luiz is held by De Guzman and he has another chance for a free-kick. It's a very long way out though.
Mata breaks and tries to skip the ball in to Oscar, but Swansea's defence close around him.
Routledge hits a deep ball into the box and Michu lines up the overhead. It flies over, but with the kind of form he has been in, you can't blame him for trying.
Chelsea controlling the ball well, but the Swans' defence is holding firm. Ivanovic is clearly trying to get forward, which could leave a bit of a gap
Torres with a flick on to find Mata, but Chico comes across well and snuffs out the danger.
Azpilicueta gets a ball in, but it's poor and Ki deflects it back for Tremmel to grab.
Swansea are indeed sitting deep as they were for most of the first half. I don't imagine we will see much of them in the final third, but they only need to hold onto what they have
Torres has looked more lively so far this half, probably fears the impact of Ba.
He has a dip, but can't keep the ball down and it sails harmlessly over the bar.
David Luiz is lining up the free-kick... we've seen what he can do before.
Torres gets it and cuts inside. Chico brings him down and goes in the book.
Torres with a neat control and volley out wide to Cole
Swansea, most likely, will try and protect what they have. And who could blame them?
No subs at the half and Ivanovic is already bursting around trying to get his side back into it. He would have had a chance too if Torres had stayed onside.
KICK-OFF - Chelsea have some work to do in the second half. Be less wasteful is top of their list.
Michu is obviously the man to have in your fantasy team so pick your Premier League fantasy squad for the second half of the season now and challenge your friends.
Michu celebrates his goal
HALF-TIME. Chelsea 0-1 Swansea. The Blues dominated, but a mistake let Michu in and you can't do that in the form he's been in. A gameplan has worked for Swansea and they lead.
One added minute, and they have a chance for a free-kick 35 yards out.
Azpilicueta has a shot from a wide angle.. not going to score from out there. Chelsea will need to refocus their efforts after half-time. They have been wasteful.
Ivanovic has scored three in his last six matches, but that would have been the best of the lot.
Oh Ivanovic stings the palms of Tremmel. A blistering shot from outside the box and it's beaten away. The Serb almost made amends.
Chelsea don't deserve to be losing at the break, but they only have three minutes to put things right
Hernandez goes in the book for a crude kick out at Oscar after the pair had clashed
How will Chelsea respond? With a good piece of skills by Cahill on the wing, before he loses it. Ronaldinho would have been proud of that.
It has been ALL Chelsea, but this competition continues to favour the underdog.
Terrible, ponderous error from Ivanovic to let De Guzman bully him. Michu picked it up and curled it into the corner. What a finish and what a signing!
GOAL Michu!! An error from Ivanovic and Michu pounces.
Frank Lampard warming up on the sidelines. He is getting a loud ovation - the Chelsea fans don't want to see the back of him
A period of pressure again for Chelsea. Oscar, then Mata, and finally Luiz have shots which the final one skids well wide. It can't be long now surely...
Henrnadez flicks the ball through Ivanovic's legs, but the Serb is not going to let him get past.
Rangel with an aimless ball into the middle. That's been Swansea's issue so far - giving the ball away once they get into the final third.
Back to the possession game for Chelsea now. Swansea are back in numbers to cover though.
Swansea being overrun a bit now. Luiz chips in the ball and Oscar tries to control once he found his way past the defence. His control lets him down though and Williams gets back to clear.
Another really good chance for Chelsea - you wonder how many more they can afford to miss?
Torres gets away completely free down the right.. he squares the ball slowly to Mata who is bursting into the open space, but the ball doesn't find him before Tremmel dives on it.
Mata comes close again. Great flick from Ocscar to find him in the box and he drags his shot just wide of the post.
Hazard is causing trouble every time he gets hold of the ball, but Torres is looking lonely and has really not had much of an impact.
Swansea can be relatively happy with the scoreline, but it feels like Chelsea will score if they carry on like they are.
Routledge can't get past Azpilicueta, but they looked good for a moment down their left.
A player of Mata's class really should have done better. Instead it's still 0-0.
Hazard bursts away. He pounced on the space in a second and slipped it inside to Mata, who has a chance to score. His shot is tame though and wasteful. It was the best chance of the game.
Oscar's corner comes in and finds the head of Cahill. It flies just over the bar, but he has looked dangerous when in the opposition box.
Azpilicueta came close, so Cahill thinks he can have a go as well. His shot wasn't half as close.
Hazard tries to bully his way through; Mata's shot slams against Davies and then it rebounds to Azpilicueta who hammers it just wide. Three chances in quick succession.
A couple of minutes there when Swansea looked like they might be dangerous. Chelsea back in control of the ball again though...
Michu lets off a shot from outside the box, but despite Turnbull's fumble, it was not a hard one.
Ki crosses and the ball finds Hernandez in the box. His control knocks it through the legs of Cole, but the chance dies.
Azpilicueta catches Davies, but it's not been a tough game so far and there have been precious few fouls.
The times when there is a chance to break has seen nobody to chase down the ball. Chelsea will be pleased as they can focus on their attacks for now.
Hernandez and Britton are trying to get things going, but a through-ball finds no-one. They are so deep.
Swansea getting bodies behind the ball and defending deep to stave off these attacks. Hopefully they will open up a bit later on.
Posession football by the Blues. Swansea haven't had a kick for the last few minutes.
Michu is dropping deep to defend and hasn't seen much of the ball in an attacking sense. Swansea will want to change this
Luiz has it in the centre, but he seems to have calmed down since the opening minutes. The tempo is dropping a little.
Chelsea in control at the moment - lots of the ball in the Swansea end and Turnbull has not been troubled to date.
De Guzman caught offside when Britton's ball was a good one. He should have done much better there.
Swansea are struggling to find space. Ivanovic comes across and stops the move again, with Routledge running into space.
That could well have been one of the goals of the season, purely because of where the move started off
Chelsea play their way out of danger from Turnbull's kick and all the way up the other end with a passing move sees Ramires get a chance. He cuts inside and it's well saved by Tremmel.
Torres on the turn now, fires a shot in but it is well over the bar. Chelsea are starting to purr.
Hazard and Cole link up down the left to force a corner. From it, Torres looked like he was being pulled back but missed his header at the far post.
Torres out wide swings the ball in and Cahill heads it over. Could have done better with it, but he wasn't close to the goal.
Oscar gets the better of Davies down the right. His cross is low, but cleared by Williams with ease.
Luiz spots a run from Torres, but the ball just skids away from him. Better control and he could have fashioned a chance.
Rangel gets the ball spread wide to him and bursts forward, but Britton could not get it over in time.
All the action so far has been in the middle third. A penalty box has not been entered in anger.
Chelsea getting onto the ball now and Mata is trying to pull some strings in front of the Swansea defence.
Swansea with the most possession at the moment, knocking it around nicely and trying to get everyone on the ball.
Ki bundles over Oscar, who needs to impress tonight if he is to get a regular place in the side under Benitez.
David Luiz a bundle of energy and smashes into Britton.. he could be handful tonight.
Chelsea pressing high already and forcing the Swansea defence to play it around.
KICK-OFF: Here we go... Swansea get us underway
Is it the year of the underdog? Bradford barked loudest against Villa last night, can the Swans fly high against Chelsea?
The players are on their way out. Ashley Cole captaining Chelsea tonight, which looks a bit odd to be honest.
And of course the Capital One Cup has seen scores of 6-1, 7-5 and suchlike already this season. I may be talking it up, but would be shocked not to see at least a few goals tonight.
Swansea have been so impressive with their passing game - it can be like watching Barcelona sometimes! The most impressive thing is that they don't stop playing against the bigger sides and try and contain them. Could be an open game tonight.
The head: it says that Chelsea will walk this one; the heart knows Swansea can cause an upset against even the biggest teams.
All eyes are on Michu for Swansea. He has impressed so much this season and is starting to attract the attention of the big clubs. The Swans value him over £20 million though - they signed him for a bargain £2m.
Our man John Brewin is at Stamford Bridge tonight, so will keep you up to date with his thoughts from Twitter.
Almost ready for kick-off, just 15 minutes to go and you can join me @joncarterespn for the rest of the night. This is only a first-leg, but as Bradford showed last night it can go a long way to the final.
So Fernando Torres is preferred over Demba Ba tonight. Here's a look at the Blues' top two strikers. Who is better?
Swansea team: Tremmel, Rangel, Chico, Williams, Davies, Britton, Ki, De Guzman; Routledge, Michu, Pablo Hernandez
Chelsea team: Turnbull; Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Cahill, Cole; Ramires, D Luiz; Hazard, Oscar, Mata; Torres
John Brewin says that Universal appreciation for Lampard is long overdue
Lampard: Will he stay or will he go? Well, go probably.
