A superb win for Norwich and well deserved. Pilkington capped off a great performance with the winning goal, while Norwich defended brilliantly and Ruddy was unbeatable in goal. United saw a lot of possession but failed to create many real chances. Not their finest display.

Superb from Ruddy again. He makes a great save to deny a long-distance effort from Rafael before reacting well to get to the ball first ahead of the incoming Scholes.

About time too. Not the greatest 45 minutes of football. Neither side showing too much urgency in their play but United produced their best spell of the half in its closing moments, with Young bringing out a fantastic stop from Ruddy.

United have really upped their game in these last few minutes. Sadly for them they are doing it just as half-time is approaching.
