A point for each team was about right. A promising first half was followed by a far less open second. Both sides had a couple of half chances but the more the half went on the more the game had a draw written all over it.
And there goes the final whistle.
Dyer pulls a good ball back across the face of goal but Allen reads it and clears.
A ball comes in from deep towards Agger at the far post but he fails to get enough power on his header and Tremmel smothers.
Shelvey with a 25-yard effort but Tremmel gets down low to make a good save.

Gerrard shoots from distance but it sails just wide. Nearly takes a touch off Shelvey which could have taken it in.

A Liverpool attack frustratingly comes to an end as Suarez runs the ball out into touch.

Michu plays Dyer in inside the box but the winger's touch lets him down.

This game has lost a lot of its urgency as it has gone on. Disappointing.

It's Hernandez who strikes it but it was always rising.
Hernandez is brought down by Allen in a dangerous position for Swansea.

Johnson does well to intercept a Michu pass just as Swansea were looking to inflict some damage.

A pretty decent first half. Swansea started well but Liverpool have really come into it and could easily be one up. They were unlucky with the offside goal and Rodgers will be pleased. Swansea struggling a bit up front but Hernandez has been a real handful.

Gerrard and Suarez both appeal for fouls on the edge of the Swansea box but the ref waves play on.
Some lovely work from Suarez down the right. He tries to dink a ball across goal but the angle is tight and Tremmel catches.
Davies puts in a strong challenge to stop Sterling in his tracks.

Suarez picks out Enrique first time with a superb pass, after some fine work from Johnson. The Spaniard gets to the ball at the far post and knocks it in. Ruled out for offside though.

Skrtel tries to find Downing with a cross-field ball but it goes out for a throw-in.
De Guzman finds himself in space down the right but his pace lets him down. Gerrard gives away the ball back to the midfielder who shoots tamely from the edge of the box and it goes well wide. Should have passed.
It has been a pretty even game so far with both sides, as you would expect, trying to play good football and get forward.
Hernandez has been very lively today.
Hernandez and Shechter play a neat one-two before the Spanish winger tries to bend an effort into the corner from the edge of the box. Sails just wide. Reina looked beaten.
A nice Liverpool move sees Suarez eventually fire in an effort at goal but it rebounds back off a defender.
Rangel plays in Hernandez down the right but Agger makes a great sliding tackle.
Gerrard tries to play in Sterling over the top but Davies does well to defend the danger.
Downing comes forward down the left but gets tackled by Rangel far too easily.
Johnson stays forward and Enrique plays him in. The full back gets the shot away but Tremmel makes a fine save to turn it over the bar. Chance of the game so far.
Johnson makes a great run infield from the right into the box. But he is just unable to get the ball out of his feet to shoot.
De Guzman soon wastes possession as he tries to play a pass in behind the Liverpool defence but it is poor.

Enrique breaks forward from the left. Suarez makes the run and wants the pass but the left back just delays it and by the time he makes the pass the striker is offside.
Interestingly, Brendan Rodgers signed just two of the Swansea players in their starting line-up today.
Sterling runs forward with the ball and some space opens up so he shoots but it is tame and straight at Tremmel.
Both sides are putting the other under real pressure whenever they are on the ball. It has been a real frantic start.

Today's referee is Jonathan Moss. He has taken charge of one Swansea game already this season, when the Swans lost 2-0 at Stoke.
Their last meeting at the Liberty Stadium came last season in the league as Danny Graham scored the only goal of the game to give Brendan Rodgers' old side the win.
The two sides have of course met once already this season, with Swansea winning 3-1 at Anfield in the Capital One Cup.
