Villa Park, England
Referee: Mike Dean
Thanks for following what was a cracking game in the end at Villa Park. I'll be back at 1730GMT for Stoke City vs Liverpool right here. See you then!
What a great final 25 minutes! Makes up for a dreadful first half. Villa have a 2-2 draw with United, but they could have had more.
Headed clear by Ferdinand and that's the end of the match.
Villa have a late, late corner...
30 seconds to go...
But Villa clear and can breathe again.
Obertan forces a United corner.
Villa waste a great chance to put pressure on Van der Sar's goal. Delfouneso overhits a pass to the wings and the move is dead.
United hitting everything long for Smalling.
It's all United now who are throwing everything at Villa! Now it's the home side hanging on. Obertan dances his way through the Villa defence but his shot is blocked.
We are into the first of 5 additional minutes at Villa Park.
Obertan hits a shot just over from the edge of the box. United still asking the questions...
Herd on, Hogg off
Chris Smalling is playing as a centre-forward by the way. This game has gone mad!
Lichaj on, Albrighton off
Smalling on, Park off
Well, the second half anyway.
Unbelievable stuff! Nani sends a superb right-footed cross in from the left and Vidic is there at the far post to score with a diving header. Superb goal, superb game
GOAL It's 2-2!!
Evra forces a United corner...
United wouldn't deserve a point here but they are still in this. You wouldn't be surprised to see a United equaliser here.
Stewart Downing fires a shot just over with his right foot. What a second half this has been!
GOAL But United aren't done yet! Macheda has scored a screamer from the edge of the box, straight into the top corner like a guided missile! United have nine minutes to complete their comeback. Game on!
Taking nothing away from Villa though. Barcelona would have been proud of that second goal.
Wow. What a blistering few minutes! Villa have certainly deserved their lead. United shaded the first half but have been poor in the second. Very poor.
Delfouneso on, Agbonlahor off
Fantastic goal by Villa, absolutely fantastic! One end of the pitch to the other sees Young again rip United to shreds. His perfect pass to Downing on the left wing allows Downing to pick out Albrighton at the far post who timed his run perfectly to tap in. Classic counter-attacking football.
GOAL Albrighton makes it 2-0 Villa!
And Luke Young was booked for an earlier foul.
Nemanja Vidic was booked for his protests.
Wes Brown was booked for his foul on Young that led to the penalty.
Let me bring you up to date with the yellow cards that were dished out in all that excitement...
Obertan & Macheda on, Berbatov & Hernandez off
GOAL Young sends Van der Sar the wrong way and Villa have a deserved lead!
Wes Brown has brought down Young in the box. Definite penalty. Young to take...
PENALTY TO ASTON VILLA!
Villa unfortunate not to be ahead. United have Obertan and Macheda. Fergie has to do something.
Villa all over United, who are hanging on at the moment.
Villa all over United! Agbonlahor hits the base of the post from 10 yards out after Ashley Young's shot was blocked by Vidic.
Great chance for Villa! Collins gets forward for Villa and sends a header crashing against the bar. That was a thunderous header, but it remains 0-0.
The tackles continue fly in at Villa Park. Fletcher is back on the pitch with a new shirt, minus a name and number. He looks like some sort of zombie with bloody remains over him.
Hernandez meanwhile, is yellow carded for a foul.
It's a battlefield out there! Fletcher has blood all over his shirt and is being patched up.
Nani is absolutely clattered by Luke Young!
But they have a free kick. Nani and Evra standing over it again...
Nani gets a brief sight of goal but hits his left-footed shot straight at Dunne. United getting frustrated you sense.
Rio Ferdinand is laying into Park Ji-Sung! He's shouting in the Korean's face! That's not nice. Ferdinand hasn't exactly been a rock himself today.
But this is worrying for United, who are looking lame.
What a miss by Albrighton! Downing beats Fletcher on the left wing and whips in a beautiful cross to the unmarked Albrighton at the far post who heads the ball back across the face of goal but wide of the post! That, quite simply, should have been a goal. Glaring miss.
Nani has caught Warnock in the face with an elbow and is shown yellow.
Villa playing with a much higher tempo now as another chance goes begging. Agbonlahor spins and shoots inside the box, his shot is blocked, but falls to Albrighton who fires into the side-netting. He can't believe he hasn't been awarded a corner.
Good early chance for Villa. Young bursts forward with speed and purpose and has United's defenders backpedaling. But his ball out to Albrighton on the right is slightly behind him and the move breaks down.
And just a quick apology for any mentions of 'Carew'. I was in fact referring to Gabriel Agbonlahor. Sorry!
Here we go again. Fingers crossed for an action-filled second half...
Join me again in 15 minutes for the second half; let's hope there is more to talk about in the second period. During the break, why not follow me on Twitter right here
And that wraps up a rather uneventful first half. It's 0-0.
Dunne gets his head on the end of it but it's off target.
Downing in the thick of it again. He wins a corner in what will be the last action of the first half.
Downing gets into a good position on the left, cuts inside again, and shoots what can only be described as the worst shot ever. He sliced the ball so horrendously that the position it went out for a throw-in was behind the spot from which Downing took the shot. Marvellous.
Chance for Villa! Downing cuts inside Wes Brown but his right-footed shot is deflected out for a corner. Crucial block.
Warnock has caught Nani with a cruncher! Strong but fair challenge.
Carrick finds himself in some space on the edge of the box but drags his shot wide. Sums up the first half really.
And that's possibly been the most exciting moment of the half.
Evra is down injured here and Hernandez has put his foot on the ball presumably expecting the referee to stop play. He didn't, Luke Young tried to tackle Hernandez, Hernandez took exception, Fletcher stepped in. Handbags.
United attacking again. This time Park dribbles his way to the edge of the box but runs into a crowd of Villa bodies.
Great move by United! Evra skips over the ball and makes a run on the left side of the box, Nani slides the ball into this path and Evra puts a superb low ball across the face of goal but no one is there for the tap-in. What a well worked free-kick and all United needed was someone in front of goal to finish it off.
Now United have a free kick slightly left of the 'D'. Nani will surely strike this...
Good chance for Villa! Carew flicks a long ball into the path of Young, on the edge of the box. Young takes a touch and fires a good low shot which Van der Sar gets across to gather. Good play all round there.
But Nani's delivery is woeful.
Berbatov wins a free kick in a good position on the right wing and wins what can only be described as a cheap free kick off Warnock.
Park almost capitalises on a terrible first touch by Richard Dunne but Park get the ball under control either. Not a game of the greatest quality so far.
But Vidic does brilliantly to flick Young's dangerous corner clear.
Albrighton forces a corner for Villa...
Half chance for United. The ball is fired into the box by Nani and Wes Brown gets on the end of it but sends his effort into the side netting.
Bannan trips Hernandez as United had a break on. That was the clearest yellow card you'll ever see.
Park gets forward for United, but sends his cross beyond the waiting Hernandez.
Big miss by Berbatov! United counter attacked that last Villa attack with Hernandez, who found Berbatov just onside, but the Bulgarian poked his shot left-footed just wide. But he really should have scored, or at least got his shot on target under pressure.
Good play by Villa again. Albrighton gets past Evra on the right, who slipped, but his cross is into space.
Good play by Villa. Bannan plays a cracking through ball between United's defnders which Downing does well to get on the end of, but Ferdinand gets across to block Downing's cross.
Good effort by Nani flys just over. Typical Nani as he skipped infield from the right and sent a left footed drive a foot or two over the bar.
Young has looked lively, but Villa's attack eventually breaks down. Neither side stamping their authority on the game so far.
Villa's Warnock is caught in the face with Nani's boot, who was attempting an extravagent flick.
Ferdinand is pushed over by Carew as the United defending is shielding the ball out of play. There wasn't too much contact there but Ferdinand is aghast that he wasn't given a free kick.
Carrick gets back to break down a promising Villa move. It was Young he dispossessed as he was about to release Albrighton.
Really good play by United. Fletcher finds Nani on the right wing, who whips in a wicked ball but it gets away from United's predators in the box. Berbatov nearly connected there.
Park is already causing havoc on United's left wing, with Richard Dunne called into evasive action with a perfectly timed slide tackle.
Manchester United playing in their away kit of white shirts and dark shorts.
A minute's silence for Remembrance Sunday is impeccably observed and we are underway at Villa Park.
Hogg is making his debut. What a game to break your duck in.
The big news from Villa Park is Gerard Houllier's selection of Jonathan Hogg, Barry Bannan and Marc Albrighton - none of whom are over 21.
The teams are streaming out of the tunnel at Villa Park, poppies adorning their shirts in recognition of Remembrance Day. We are just seconds away from kick-off.
Live commentary will appear here from 12.30 GMT.
Manchester United are without Wayne Rooney as he continues his recovery from injury but can they get a win away at Aston Villa? United needed a late Park Ji-sung goal to beat Wolves last weekend, and drew 0-0 with Manchester City in midweek.
