Full time and United go top. It was a poor game, and Wolves had the best chances, but Scholes' 100th Premier League goal has killed Mick McCarthy's side off. Vokes' late miss should have rescued a point but the young lad will want to forget it. Thanks for your company.
Uniited happy to sit deep now but Wolves aren;t going to get a better chance than Vokes'. He'll have nightmares about that miss for years.
Now Vokes has headed wide from a looping cross after Vidic and ferdinand neglected to go for it. How did he miss a minuute ago? A criminal miss.
Oh my word! Vokes has missed an absolute sitter! Eight yards out, the ball squirms his way, the goal is at his mercy and he has blazed it over the bar. Incredible. What a miss!
Four minutes added..
Last Wolves change: Vokes on for Jarvis.
Foley's ball into the area is disappointing but Keogh and Ebanks-Blake have at least given Wolves more bodies up top.
Doyle chests down and tries a shot but he's dragged that wide. The shooting from distance has been atrocious today.
Keogh crosses looking for Ebanks-Blake but Neville wins the header.
Double change for Wolves: Keogh and Ebanks-Blake for Ward and Guedioura.
Great move from United as Berbatov flicks the ball to Valencia, he gets to the byline and drives one across and Diouof, not anticipating Berra missing the ball, can't turn it home.
Henry stands one up towards the far post but that is meat and drink for Van der Sar. Then United break and Diouf works a shooting chance but it is wide.
Great ball in from Gary Neville and Diouf is unmarked at the far post but gets it totally wrong and manages to get underneath a regulation header. It sails over the bar.
Now Valencia has a crack from a narrow angle and wins another corner.
Park gets into the area after swapping passes with Berbatov but he doesn't know whether to cross or shoot and by the time he made his mind up he was falling over. He wins a corner though.
Jarvis' cross looks like it is troubling no-one but curls at the last minute, forcing Van der Sar to scramble across.
That was Scholes's 100th Premier League goal and it was served up on a plate by poor old Jody Craddock.
Park comes on for Nani.
It was a mistake I'm afraid. Craddock hits Nani's cross right at Scholes, then falls over as he prepares to shoot, and the midfielder hammers it into the corner.
An aimless section of play as possession changes hands frequently. Will we get one spark of magic, or one mistake, to settle this game?
Jarvis wiggles his way inside after another nice bit of link up play from Jones but his effort flies high, wide and ugly.
Berbatov is penlised for pulling Berra's shirt. The first goal looks likely to be the winner at the moment.
Great one-two between Doyle and Foley, who has the legs on Neville but his cross is turned behind by Vidic.
United's fans have got banners attacking the Glazers in their section and the stewards are doing their best to haul them down.
Evra climbs all over Guedioura nad manages to kick him in the jewels and in the back in one, ugly swoop.
Doyle feeds Foley who crosses but no-one can get up to nod towards goal. Then Peter Walton gets in the way of the ball and hands possession back to the home side. Fergie not happy.
United change: Gibson off and Diouf on.
David Jones is booked for a late clip on Carrick. Three yellow cards in as many minutes.
Wolves' fancy free kick falls flat as Jarvis hits the wall, then United break and Valencia wins the corner. Then the referee books Craddock for blocking Nani who was busting a gut to get up in support.
Great run from Guedioura as he streaks away from Carrick then steps inside Vidic and is clipped. Yellow card for the defender and a great chance for Wolves. Free kick, 22 yards out and central.
More danger at the feet of Jarvis as he skips round Gibson and crosses, Doyle shifts it onto his right but the shot is blocked by Ferdinand.
Valencia crosses this time then Nani gets up to nod at goal but his glance is wide.
Super ball in from Berbatov who gets half a yard on Craddock, but his iniviting delivery is met by no-one at the back stick.
Zubar flies down the right but Van der Sar rushes out before Berbatov tries to turn a cross in at the other end.
Great run from Evra and a lovely ball from Gibson, Hahnemann saves the full back's deflected shot before Jarvis scrambles the loose ball clear.
Karl Henry jinks round Gibson and tires a shot but he was off balance and dragged it wide.
Scholes penalised for clumsy tackle shock.
United build down the right but Valencia's ball for Nani doesn't connect then Berbatov tries to turn home a long ball before Craddock nips in to boot away.
Cracking little dink from Berbatov as Scholes got into the area. He collapsed in a heap with Zubar but nothing doing from the ref, quite right.
Early cross to the back post from Wolves where Zubar nods against Nani but doesn't get the corner for some reason. Then United break and Valencia lays-off to Berbatov but his shot is blocked.
We begin again and Gary Neville is on for Wes Brown..
That's half time and in truth it has been a poor game. The best chance of the opening 45 minutes fell to Wolves and they are winning in the want stakes definitely. See you back here in 15 minutes.
Decent hustling from Wolves as Doyle finds the ball, then Foley hits one and claims handball off Vidic before United finally bring the ball clear.
The flag is up as Berbatov nods wide from Nani's cross.
A bit of pressure from United as the half nears an end but still no cutting edge.
Slightly better from United as they enjoy some good possession but for once, Scholes' delivery lets him down as he got to the byline.
The crowd have been lifted by that chance but against the big sides you have to make the most of your opportunities.
Another great chance for Wolves! Jones crosses and Stearman has a free header from ten yards out but he nods right at Van der Sar when he should have buried it.
United are looking a bit ragged here as first Nani then Carrick waste the ball.
Then at the other end Valencia puts in a superb cross that flashes across the face but no-one can turn it home.
Great chance for Wolves as Doyle charges forward, feeds Jarvis who tucks it back inside for Jones but Carrick gets a partial block on his shot and Van der Sar claims.
Nani spends far too long trying stepovers and turns before losing possession. Someone needs to get a grip of this game.
Another Wolves move is disrupted when Doyle gives away a free kick.
Wolves somehow manage to turn a decent crossing chance into a slow, ponderous move ending in a long ball. Poor.
Brown swings in a cross on the right but it is far too deep for everyone. This game if lifeless at the moment. In the stands too.
Gibson has another go on goal, but he drags this one wide of the far post. He's never shy of having a pop is he?
A good looking break from Wolves is halted in its tracks when Doyle can't decide between passing and shooting when he gets to the edge of the box. He does neither and is tackled.
Decent looking ball over the top from Brown but Hahnemann is out to claim before Berbatov can get there.
Ward bangs in a cross but it sails over everbody's head.
Man Utd counter after Wolves' free kick is cleared and as Berbatov crosses to the back stick Gibson has a go on the vollley but it bounces up so Hahnemann can parry then claim.
Nani hangs a boot out as Zubar goes for a header but it wasn't malicious. In fact, I don't think Nani even knew he was there. A free kick, nothing more.
Geudioura has a go on the volley as the corner is cleared to him, but then turns in a poor ball after it is blocked and United have a goal kick.
Jones swings in the kick and Ferdinand heads behind for a corner.
A huge ironic cheer as Wolves get a free kick of their own on the right flank.
Nani's dribbled free kick from 40 yards falls to Gibson and he desperately tries to poke it into the net but his effort trickles wide.
Guediora intercepts from Berbatov and streaks down the wing but Scholes mops up tidily.
Now Nani tries an ambitious effort on the turn from the edge of the box but it was never on target.
Good cross from Valencia but Berbatov tries to take it down among a crowd of players before Berra gets rid.
Vidic goes down in a heap as Doyle tried to block his clearance. There was a little clip and the ref has a chat with the Irish striker but nothing more.
Vidic does well to give Doyle a little nudge before nodding a long ball back to his goalkeeper.
Now Valencia has a pop from a wide right position but it was always spiralling wide.
A little too casual from Hahnemann there as he tries to feign inside Berbatov. The striker blocks his clearance but the 'keeper gets away with it.
First chance of the game for Wolves and Doyle is heavily involved. He releases Jarvis on the left and as the ball comes back to him he strikes a shot wide of the post.
I'll also keep an eye on Fulham v Spurs in the FA Cup too. 15 minutes gone in that one and it's 0-0.
A bitty opening, it's fair to say. Wolves trying to close United down as much as possible.
Nani makes an early break down the left but his cross is wayward. That immediately starts a 'Nani waywarrd corsses count' in the Soccernet office.
The teams emerge from the tunnel. Manchester United can go top with a win of course, while Wolves will move up a place to 16th if they claim the points.
