Right folks, that's all for today but join us again on Saturday for coverage of Cameroon v Denmark, Netherlands v Japan, Ghana v Australia. Thanks for tuning in.
Gerrard was just asked what was missing from the game. "Goals" was his answer. Insightful.
Comment from Joy Gupta: Algeria fully deserve their point and they will be celebrating back home long into the night. They worked hard and kept pressing till the end. What they needed was a finisher but strangely they didn't bring either any of their forwards...

You can read the report from this game here.
And they got it - a great performance really from Algeria - things slowed down for them in the second half but they were the better side in the first.
Comment from Joy Gupta at Green Point Stadium: Flares going off in the stands now. It's coming from the Algerian part - I think they sense a point they didn't expect.
Soccernet Editor John Brewin: That was the worst match of the tournament and England can take a huge part of the discredit for it. As bad as 1-1 with Ireland in 1990, Denmark in 1992. Plain awful.
By no means a classic this one and I'm sure Fabio Capello will be doing a lot of soul searching before the Slovenia game.
FULL-TIME. England 0-0 Algeria
It's all over...
Late corner for England.
Sails over the crossbar.

Johnson brings down Belhadj.
Crouch with an excellent tiptoeing run down the right but his ball in field is terrible.
Defoe and Gerrard combine well, Lampard is slipped in and the ball breaks out for Defoe who launches it high and over. Don't think the Jabulani can be blamed for that.
Three minutes of added time to play.
James collects. If he didn't catch it, there were three players in green ready to pounce. Crucial from the goalkeeper.
Belhadj with a fantastic ball, very dangerous...
Terry penalised and Algeria have a free-kick about 40 yards out.
Frank Lampard shows his frustration after a missed chance
Mesbah on for Yebda
Lampard shoots from 30 yards. It's all looking very desperate as boos ring out, seemingly from both sets of fans. Capello looks irate.

Terry tries to bring England forward from the back.
England corner, won again by Defoe. But no further developments to report after that.
Great acceleration from Belhadj - he's been effective throughout. But the one-two with Ziani doesn't quite work.
Terry nods it to Barry on the edge who hammers his shot into Halliche's arm. Completely accidental though.
Lampard to take.
Another good burst of pace from Defoe and he's forced another corner.
Terrible delivery by Gerrard.

It comes to Lampard who tries but - surprise surprise - fails to execute the pass.
Great positive running from Wright-Phillips. He's won a free-kcik down the right wing. Barry to swing it in.
Another dire touch from Rooney, he has had a real nightmare.
Soccernet Editor John Brewin: As a sole Englishman in a press room of Americans and Slovenians I am utterly embarrased by this performance.
James does really well to get it away. Could have been disaster with Matmour bearing down on him.

It's like you read my mind Joy!
Comment from Joy Gupta at Green Point Stadium: Algeria looked the brighter... especially Belhadj and Ziani... but they lack a proper target.
The other game in Group C was played earlier today and it was a cracker. Slovenia and USA drew 2-2 and Soccernet Editor John Brewin was there to watch it. Read his thoughts on the game here.
But fair play to Algeria, they look a much better side than the one that was turned over by Slovenia. Ziani and Boulebouz the key men, while Belhadj has been full of running too.
A really tough game to watch from an England perspective, they lack a degree of flair and creativity - Joe Cole anyone?
