Full time! A job well done from United then, but they could and should have scored more goals. Aalborg looked spirited but limited in terms of talent. Join us again tomorrow night for some more Champions League action...
Two minutes added...
Into the final minute now....
Old hot head Pedersen is at it again, screaming at Risgård who hits the ball out of play instead of releasing him down the left. Calm down fella.
Arsenal 4-0 Porto is a result.
Berbatov looks knackered.
A quality ball from Berbatov, ROnaldo was clean through, dragged the keeper wide then hit his shot into the side netting. Poor.
United fluff another break. Tevez releases Nani, his cross is too far for Ronaldo and although he keeps it in, Berbatov fouls Bogelund and the chance is over.
Aalborg have a corner. Can they get a consolation goal?
Not much left in this game now. Everybody's winding down for the last eight minutes...
Well, he's off and running in a Man Utd shirt, but if it wasn't for Augustinussen's howler that gifted him his first, he may well still have been having a stinker.
A decent finish that, Ronaldo gets to the byline, picks out Berba who does very well to control a bouncing ball by volleying it into the net.
Risgård has a crack this time but VDS saves easily.
Stat attack: United have had 23 attempts on goal tonight, Aalborg nine. Wow.
Tevez slams one just wide after a good run. He's been lively since he came on.
Johansson manages to get his head to a Pedersen cross, despite Evra seemingly being in control, and it bounces narrowly wide.
Bogelund is at it again, overhitting his cross when three of his team mates were well placed.
Tevez goes round Pedersen and with only the keeper to beat inexplicably decides to square it for Ronaldo, who wasn't expecting it and who loses the chance with a heavy first touch.
Ronaldo has a dig and Zaza only just manages to cling onto it.
Curth is now busy at the other end, sliding in to block a Berbatov shot that was goal-bound.
Bogelund swings in a cross with his left but overhits it. What a shame Curth didn't take that chance a moment ago, that would have set us up for a decent last 20 minutes.
Arsenal are 4-0 up now, Adebayor has slotted a pen.
Great chance for Aalborg, as Johansson bursts through and offloads to Curth whose shot screwed wide from just ten yards out. Poor.
Villarreal have gone in front against Celtic, through Marcos Senna.
Rafael is replaced by Wes Brown. Rooney and Scholes have already come off through injury don't forget and this comfortable victory looks like coming at a price for Manchester United.
Wes Brown is about to come on for Rafael.
Another precise move from United as tevez squeezes a ball through the back line and though Giggs reaches it and gets round the keeper, the angle is too narrow for him to finish it.
It's all getting a bit bunched around the Aalborg box as United try and pass their way through. The home side looking a bit dejected now.
The ball is in the net but Tevez has been penalised. It was a lovely break though, a great flick from Berbatov releases Nani, his shot is blocked but Tevez's follow-up looks a bit army and is ruled out.
By the way, it was Augustinussen who presented Berbatov with his first goal for United, not Olfers.
Rooney is coming off after that earlier knock on his knee. Tevez is on.
The bad news for United is that Paul Scholes is going to leave the ground on crutches. He's currently watching the game on the tiniest monitor I've ever seen in a drafty tunnel. Ooh, the glamour.
Well, that was the only way he was going to score - if it was gift-wrapped. Olfers makes a howler, presenting him with the ball and the Bulgarian smashes it home from just outside the area. No celebration from him either. Game over I'd surmise.
Zaza gets a booking for time-wasting, even though his team are one down. Curious.
Ronaldo shoots from the free kick, which was 45 yards out, and sends it a mile over the crossbar. He's an eejit sometimes.
Rafael goes down under Johansson's challenge and the Aalborg centre-back is carded. Rightly so. The Brazilian youngster is being hoisted onto a stretcher by the all too eager medical team.
At t'other end Curth swings in a low ball that Ferdinand does well to clear, right under his own crossbar.
Berbatov's nightmare continues. I can only imagine he was befuddled by the range of options he had there but Messrs. Rooney, Ronaldo and Nani looked utterly disgusted with his pathetic attempt at a through ball.
This Rafael lad looks promising. He's not shy to have a pop, try and beat nine men in a row or slide in quality little passes to his attacking players. And only 18-years-old. I hate him.
Nice link up between Evra and Nani down the left forces a corner off Bogelund.
Aalborg force an early corner but Vidic nods clear, then Rafael wins a free kick on the edge of his own box.
We begin again ... and already I can tell you Robin van Persie has made it 3-0 to Arsenal against Porto. That were quick wannit?
That is half time .... see you in 15 minutes
Another stray pass from Berbatov. He looks like he's sulking because everyone else in a United shirt is having joy against this Aalborg side and he's not. Curth hits a shot that deflects over VDS's bar.
Giggs's cross is deflected and for a minute it looks like the ball is going to bounce over Zaza and into the net but the keeper recovers well top catch it on the line.
Rafael goes for goal again! This time a curling effort with the left foot. Great save by Zaza! Corner.
Rooney looks for Berbatov this time, but it looks like they are still sizing each other up. There's in no fluidity there so far. It'll come with time I'm sure.
Yet another break from United and Ronaldo is involved again but ROoney is offside when he crosses.
Another lightning fast break from United, Ronaldo gallops down the right but Olfers does well to intercept his cross before it reaches Rooney.
Beauchamp is replaced by Caca.
Rafael gets the game's first yellow of the game after sliding in on Pedersen, maybe in a revenge mission for the Ronny incident a moment earlier.
Nice break from Man Utd, Giggs feeds Ronaldo, he crosses looking for Barbatov but Zaza (Gbor? Oh come on, it was staring me in the face) comes out to claim.
Beauchamp is hobbling off and the game is restarted with an Aalborg goal kick. Home side down to ten men for a minute...
Ron whips it in and Nani forces a corner from Olfers. Then they carry on when Aalborg had a man down and its all kicking off a bit. Pedersen goes mental and shoves Ronaldo and the ref has a job on his hands here.
Augustinussen trips Ronaldo and United have a free kick, wide left.
A poor ball from Enevoldsen, who was looking for the onrushing Bogelund. Asked too much of his right back though.
Johansson has a dart from 30 yards, it bounces up awkwardly and Van der Sar is out to punch before Augustinussen could get there.
Arsenal are one up against Porto. Robin van Persie.
Pedersen is lucky not to be carded after a shunt on Ronaldo. Not his first either.
O'Shea's floated ball finds Rooney but his touch takes him wide. In the end he crosses but Berbatov can't meet it in the air.
Ronaldo has oh so nearly made it two. Rooney lays it off, Ronny bashes one from 25 yards and the ball takes a lick of paint off the crossbar.
Bogelund nearly equalises! A brilliant saving challenge from Ferdinand saves a certain goal as the right back was played in down the right channel. Where was Evra?!
That was a lovely piece of play, and so simple. Rooney drifted off Beauchamp, then Giggs exploited the gap in between Aalborg's two centre halves and the striker tucked it in the far corner.
A cracking finish from Rooney aftrer a delightful through ball from Ryan Giggs. A deserved lead for United.
Rafael makes a break forward, gets a lucky bounce, but belts a shot in from 20 yards and United win a corner.
Ronaldo goes through his tricks faced with Bogelund but the right back stands up well and watches the ball go safely into the arms of his keeper Zaza.
Shots raining in on Aalborg's goal as first Rooney, then Nani have efforts blocked.
Augustinussen again causes problems, this time robbing the newly-arrived Giggs of the ball. Vidic got in the way before he could get a shot away.
Giggs is on and Scholes disappears down the tunnel, still on the stretcher. They'll probably just dump him in the river out the back of the stadium.
Scholes leaves on a stretcher and Ryan Giggs is stripping off.
Scholes is down after taking a whack on his knee from Augustinussen. That looked painful.
More joy down the flanks for Aalborg but Bogelund couldn't pick out a team mate with his cross. A good game in prgress here...
Another chance for Aalborg but Johansson can't make contact after Beauchamp headed back across goal from the corner. Ding dong!
Aalborg did get out of their half then and nearly scored! A brilliant ball across goal from Enevoldsen caused all sorts of problems but Augustinussen couldn't turn it home! Corner!
Nani wastes a cross when well placed but Aalborg still can't get out of their own half.
Aalborg have hardly had a kick yet, and if they don't get to grips with a rampant United side soon, they'll be a goal down before they even know it.
Great stop from Zaza! A corner is flicked to the back post where Ferdinand catches the ball cleanly on the volley but the keeper gets his leg in the way and keeps it goalless.
Risgard now dawdles in possession allowing Ronaldo to nip in, and if he'd set about trying to play Rooney or Berbatov in United would surely be one up. Instead, he tried too many stepovers and is crowded out.
My word, Ronaldo charges down an attempted clearance by Aalborg's keeper Zaza, it flicks across goal and right into the path of Berbatov, who smashes a volley wide from ten yards with the goal gaping. Apparently, that's what £30m gets you these days.
Poor first touch from Rafael, who is playing at right back. His ball looking for Ronaldo is poor.
Firs hint of a threat from United as Nani cuts in and belts one right at Bogelund's head. The ball breaks and Rooney wins a corner.
Saganowski looks like he's doing the lone role up front for Aalborg. Thank heavens it isn't Augustinussen eh?
Looks like a cute, tightly packed stadium, but only 10,500 fans in so not exactly a crescendo of noise greeting Man Utd.
I'll admit to knowing little about Aalborg, apart from midfielder Jeppe Curth's impressive display at Parkhead, but expect them to set-up rigidly in an attempt to give nothing away in the early stages. There. Is that vague enough for you?
So, Ronaldo starts, in what is pretty much a full-strength United line-up. Only the appearance of 18-year-old defender Rafael is a surprise, but then Fergie pprobably thinks his youth and inexperience can be accommodated given the other ten players he has on display.
And the visitors: Man Utd: Van der Sar, Rafael Da Silva, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Ronaldo, Scholes, O'Shea, Nani, Berbatov and Rooney. Subs from: Amos,
Brown, Anderson, Giggs, Park, Evans and Tevez.
Without further ado the teams, starting AaB: Zaza, Bogelund, Olfers, Beauchamp, Pedersen, Augustinussen, Risgaard, Curth, Johansson, Enevoldsen and Saganowski. Subs from: Stenild, Due, Caca, Braemer, Sorensen, Kristensen and Ronnie Schwartz Nielsen.
It should be a walk in the park for the UCL holders, but then that's probably what Celtic thought in the first round of matches and we all know what happened then eh? It was 0-0, for those of you who don't. Shame on you by the way.
Good evening one and all, and welcome to live coverage of Aalborg vs Manchester United in Champions League E with me, Chris Murphy.
