Ninian Park, Wales

  • 91'

FULL TIME: A brave effort by the plucky underdogs - you've heard it all before and more than likely now Spurs will comeplte the all too predictable story by beating Cardiff when they play then back in north London. With a little more care in front of goal though Cardiff would have won this match. It was not to be however and Spurs are unlikely to play as poorly in the replay.

  • 91'

Malbranque is brought down by Flood and Spurs are now in no hurry to take the free-kick. They will take their chances back at White Hart Lane.

  • 90'

Gleen Loovens has been awarded the man of the match award and the Cardiff defence have all been on top of their game today.

  • 89'

Berbatov once more gets a firm header to the corner and Spurs can breathe once more.

  • 88'

Good deep cross from Ledley finds Thompson. He can't direct his header though. Ledley gets it back and his shot is blocked for another Cardiff corner.

  • 88'

Flood's corner is poor and Chimbonda gets to it first to head it away.

  • 87'

Lee is being replaced by Anthony Gardner.

  • 86'

Chimbonda makes a clumsy challenge of McNaughton and Cardiff get a corner out of it.

  • 85'

The game is dissolving in to quite a scrappy afair with neither side able to stamp their authority on it. One mistake or piece of skill will win this.

  • 83'

Lee is brought down by Gilbert as he skipped down the left flank.

  • 82'

Huddlestone is fouled in his own half and Spurs get the free-kick.

  • 81'

Lennon clatters in to McPhail to give away the free-kick.

  • 81'

Jermaine Defoe comes off to be replaced by Robbie Keane.

  • 80'

Spurs are pushing up more now and clearly don't fancy the replay. Their defenders are playing in the Cardiff half and the home side are being put under a bit of pressure now.

  • 78'

Lennon gets the ball back after Cardiff clear the corner but his touch is heavy and he directs the ball out of play in to the Cardiff crowd. One of whom incidentally has let off a huge flare.

  • 77'

Lennon does well down the right and his cross is cleared behind for a corner.

  • 76'

Firm header by Dawson up towards Lennon but it is a little too firm and goes out for a Cardiff throw.

  • 74'

Spurs play their way out of defence nicely and are keeping the ball well much to the annoyance of the home crowd. It eventually finds it's way up to Berbatov but he can't control the pass and Cardiff get it back.

  • 73'

Malbranque tries a spectacular bicycle kick which is not too far wide of the goal. But it is wide.

  • 71'

McPhail's ball is hit towards nobody other than Dawson and he receives a shout to leave it so Robinson can collect.

  • 69'

The attendance is announced to a huge round of applause. Cardiff's biggest crowd since they knocked Leeds out of the FA Cup. And what a wonderful advertisement for harmony between opposing football fans that day was.

  • 68'

Thompson chests it down to Ledley on the edge of the Spurs box. His shot is firmly struck but is also well wide.

  • 67'

Defoe is caught offside, then checks his run so it does not happen a second time. The Cardiff defence have played the rule well this evening.

  • 66'

Aaron Lennon has come on and Spurs will be hoping that gives them the impetus to score the goal which in all likelihood would now win this tie.

  • 65'

Dawson is steady at the back to block Flood's long ball towards Chopra and head it back to Robinson.

  • 64'

Thompson tries an ambitious shot with his back to goal from just outside the area which goes well over.

  • 63'

Flood puts a nice free-kick in to the Spurs penalty area which Dawson has to stretch to head to safety.

  • 62'

Berbatov's ball up to the advancing Tainio is cut out by Purse.

  • 61'

Alexander has to rush out as Defoe was lurking on the edge of the six yards box to get on the end of Berbatov's header. Good work from the Cardiff keeper.

  • 60'

Aaron Lennon is warming up and would not be a bad substitute to stick on to inject some pace in to this Spurs side.

  • 59'

Huddlestone gets it up to Defoe but his first touch gives him a difficult angle to shoot from. Cardiff get it back and break. Scimeca receives it in the Spurs box after nice work from Flood but the midfielder shoots just wide.

  • 58'

McPhail shows nice feet in midfield then looks to slide it in to Scimeca. His pass is hit too hard though and Spurs get the goal-kick.

  • 57'

The corner goes straight in to Robinson's steady hands.

  • 56'

Huddlestone puts it in but Cardiff reak with Chopra. The ball is played to Scimeca who hits it up towards Chopra and Dawson is under pressure. He puts the ball behind for a corner.

  • 55'

Spurs get a corner which Purse heads behind for another.

  • 54'

Chopra puts a delightful ball over to Ledley who appears unsure whether to head it or shoot. He opts for a shot which is unconvincing, unless he is trying to convince us he can't shoot. It goes well over the Spurs goal.

  • 53'

Cardiff break with Flood but he runs out of steam and Davenport takes the ball from him easily enough in the end.

  • 51'

Ledley receives the ball inside Spurs penalty box but Dawson is able to make an important challenge to stop him getting a clear sight on goal.

  • 51'

Jermaine Defoe just said the F word. I saw him.

  • 50'

It is rolled to Defoe but his shot is blocked by the wall.

  • 49'

Spurs have a free-kick about thirty yards from the Cardiff goal.

  • 48'

Chopra appears to have got free of his marker but is stopped in his tracks by the referee's whistle signalling offside.

  • 47'

At the other end Defoe is found by Malbranque and all three Cardiff defenders are out of position. Defoe is clean though on goal but hits his shot low and wide when he should have been troubling Alexander.

  • 46'

Thompson receives the ball in a good position just outside the Spurs area but the presence of Davenport puts the Scotsman off and he fires his shot well wide.

  • 46'

Chimbonda slices the ball out for a Cardiff throw.

  • 45'

Cardiff are on the attack immediately and Chopra's backheel towards Scimeca is blocked by Dawson.

  • 45'

The teams emerge back out on to a rain-lashed Ninian Park pitch. Cardiff re-start the game.

  • 45'

HALF TIME: Cardiff are doing everything but score so far which could prove costly. Chopra has been at the heart of things but has also been guilty of some glaring misses. Spurs have looked unsteady at the back and need to regain some composure if they are to keep a clean sheet.

  • 44'

Defoe's shot from just outside the area is blocked quickly by Thompson.

  • 43'

Malbranque stumbles and appears to collide in to McNaughton's knee with his head. The Scotsman appears to have come off the worse but both are ok.

  • 42'

Loovens does well to tidy up as Spurs try to come through the middle.

  • 40'

Malbranque spoons a ball high and wide with the sort of attempt which would be better suited to the stadium across the way from Ninian Park.

  • 39'

Defoe is penalised for a sneaky tug on Gilbert's shirt.

  • 37'

Spurs probe down the right hand side but Cardiff are back in numbers and Dawson is forced to hit a high ball which sails harmlessly out for a throw.

  • 36'

Poor pass from McNaughton gifts a throw-in to Spurs.

  • 35'

Thompson twists to head the ball from eighteen yards out in the direction of the Spurs goal. Ambitious and well wide.

  • 33'

Ledley and Thompson combine well down the left and when Ledley gets the ball in Lee has to be alert to mop up.

  • 32'

Another ball in from Chopra and again he over-hits it.

  • 31'

Flood feeds Chopra who has a wonderful chance to score. He looks offside and elects to pass to Thompson when perhaps he should have shot. The pass is poor and the chance goes but Cardiff are playing the better football so far.

  • 31'

The corner is disappointing though and Spurs deal with it easily.

  • 30'

Thompson, Ledley and McNaughton all combine to put pressure on Spurs before Dawson is forced to head behind for a corner from Chopra's cross.

  • 29'

    Chopra is just caught offside.

  • 28'

Huddlestone has a go from a free-kick but with several blue shirts approaching him fast he rushes and hits it well wide.

  • 27'

Gilbert skips away from Danny Murphy before he is stopped in his tracks with a great head on tackle by Davenport.

  • 26'

Chopra is penalised for leaning in to Michael Dawson.

  • 25'

Bsrbatov slips just as the ball was about to reach him which goes down well with the home support.

  • 24'

Berbatov again is there to clear the corner. Spurs are showing some defensive frailty though this afternoon.

  • 23'

At the other end, Thompson's header causes Robinson to fumble badly and concede a corner.

  • 22'

When the ball in to the Cardiff box by Ledley King reaches Berbatov he swivels and hits a shot which is deflected off Purse. Alexander is grateful to collect the ball at the second attempt.

  • 21'

Gleen Loovens fouls Danny Murphy and Spurs have a free-kick in the middle of the park.

  • 20'

Chopra puts Robinson under pressure as he came out of his area and the Cardiff man's block means Spurs are still back in their own half.

  • 19'

Davenport is a bit too casual with a pass to Ledley King in his own area and Chopra nicks the ball before the England man can get it. Davenport recovers in time though and Spurs get it away.

  • 17'

Davenport shows strength through the middle and then keeps on running into the Cardiff penalty area. He doesn't quite have the legs to collect Berbatov's return pass though.

  • 16'

McPhail lifts a lovely ball on to the head of Chopra who, from ten yards out, should have hit the target with the header. Instead it goes wide but the build up to the chance was a nice bit of possession play by Cardiff.

  • 15'

Lee was almost released down the left wing but just fails to keep the ball in.

  • 13'

Lee makes a terrible mistake with a header back to Paul Robinson which Chopra latches on to but he misses the target from just outside the area as Paul Robinson was bearing down on him.

  • 13'

Thompson complains that Dawson was jostling him but referee Howard Webb is not interested.

  • 11'

Defoe's cross in to the box is dealt with well by Gilbert who makes a timely interception.

  • 10'

Berbatov skims a header in to the path of Jermaine Defoe, who appears to be offside. His shot goes just wide of Alexander's right hand post. A decent chance.

  • 9'

Nice ball in from Flood but Davenport is on hand to clear the ball. Ex-Man City man Willo Flood is looking sharp today.

  • 8'

Stephen McPhail's corner is headed away by Berbatov who then clears with his foot when Cardiff have another go.

  • 7'

Flood wins a corner for Cardiff.

  • 7'

Defoe is caught offside when he was on by at least a yard.

  • 6'

Slack play from Murphy gifts possession to Cardiff. Chopra's pass to Ricardo Scimeca is behind him though and Spurs get it back.

  • 5'

Flood cuts inside and finds Chopra who hits the deck when he is challenged but the referee judges it to have been a good tackle rather than a foul.

  • 3'

Dawson wins a race to the ball with Thompson who then fouls the Spurs man.

  • 2'

Jermaine Defoe executes a fine back-heel to Berbatov who is just unable to reach the pass. Nice play from Spurs.

  • 2'

Darren Purse launches a big punt up the park but Dawson is under it and heads it away.

  • 1'

Willo Flood goes in hard on Malbranque to concede a throw.

Spurs every touch is greeted with a chorus of boos. A nice welcome then for the English club.

Ninian Park has just resounded to the strains of 'Men of Harlech' and the home crowd are in full voice today. Spurs get us underway.

Spurs start with Jermaine Defoe and Dimitar Berbatov up front in a tricky match for the Premiership side. Martin Jol has described the FA cup as the greatest tournament in Europe. Well, Ninian Park is no San Siro or Nou Camp but it is sure to be noisy this afternoon.

Cardiff's keeper Neil Alexander is likely to have a busy day and up front the Welsh team will be hoping that Michael Chopra and Steven Thompson have put their shooting boots on today.

Dave Jones Cardiff will be hoping that their partisan home support will fire them to a famous FA Cup victory against a team who have had plenty of success in this tournament, Tottenham Hotspur.
