That confirms it. The Czechs have won, and they've done so in style with two excellent goals from Rosicky. A sobering night for the USA, a superb one for the Czechs.
Nedved looks to release Stajner, who evades one but then fouls Pope.
Kolak wins a free kick, and this should enable the Czechs to see the game out in the USA's half.
Two additional minutes for the USA to suffer and the Czechs to enjoy.
Donovan looks for Johnson with a ball forward. Cech is out to sweep up.
Plasil, at full stretch, shoots over from a difficult angle.
Lokvenc with a deft ball to send Stajner away and for once, the energetic full backs don't send forward. Grygera, meanwhile, has picked up a yellow card.
Donovan takes a free kick and Rozehnal, who is excellent in the air, heads it away.
The outstanding Rosicky is withdrawn and on comes Stajner.
Polak poleaxed, caught by Lewis as they jumped for a header.
Nedved takes, and wins another corner which he comes across to take himself. Two jump, they both miss it and Beasley is able to run the ball out.
The irrepressible Rosicky sets off infield. Polak takes his place on the right, crosses well and Onyewu concedes the corner.
Josh Wolff heads some way wide from distance.
A second change for the Czechs as Poborsky goes on and Jan Polak comes on for the final few minutes.
Donovan goes on a solo run, loses possession and brings down Rozehnal.
Rosicky is booked and the USA take the free kick quickly to Johnson, who chips just over. He has been their only threat.
Convey's cross is thumped away by Rozehnal at the near post. Too easy for the Czechs again.
The Czechs are in cruise control now, passing the ball around with assurance.
Jankulovski, as he has all day, gets forward positively up the left wing.
Rosicky, once again, showed real class with that finish and, unfortunately for the USA, they have just been outclassed.
On comes Wolff now, but it is surely too late for the USA, 3-0 down and in trouble.
ROSICKY AGAIN! The midfielder takes his second in style and the Czechs, surely, have won now. Rosicky gets forward, beats the offside trap and flicks his shot past Keller. Czech mate.
Bruce Arena is planning his final change and it looks like Josh Wolff will be the third man on.
O'Brien to Donovan who weaves his way left, finds Convey whose cross is their best so far. Johnson attacks it at the near post, but Cech claims safely.
Jankulovski loses to release Plasil and Beasley has to track back to cover - and that's not the area of the pitch where the USA really want to see him.
No surprise to see the USA aim for Johnson now, but Ujfalusi heads away from the sub
Now Pope has gone down, holding his wrist. He may have landed on it while tackling Nedved.
Here comes Johnson again, cutting inside and shooting, but a sliding Jankulovski gets the block in.
Reyna finds Johnson whose shot on the turn is a real thunderbolt. It goes wide, but not by far, and finally the USA have a little hope.
Panicky clearance now from Lewis and positives for the USA so far are few and far between.
Terrific shot from Rosicky - he nearly makes it 3-0 with a dipping effort from 25 yards that rebounds back off the bar.
Lewis has to track back and clear for a throw.
Lokvenc puts Onyewu under pressure. The defender copes - just- but it is another indication of the problems the US are having all over the pitch.
Rozehnal plays the long ball forward to Lokvenc but he, like Koller before him, seems to stray offside a little too often.
McBride heads away the corner, but it's another. This time it's Onyewu who clears.
Nedved is in acres of space and the USA really need to get tighter. He chips over the top for Lokvenc, whose touch is poor. Beasley recovers superbly, and he needed to - a shot was on.
Plasil is back on and he sets off on a mazy run. He then passes forward, but Lokvenc is not on the same wavelength.
Lewis' ball forward makes it easy for Cech to come and claim.
Worrying times for the USA with the Czechs looking likely to get a third goal.
Nedved's deep cross is well met by Poborsky with an excellent volley, but just over the bar from an acute angle.
Nedved, meanwhile, takes the free kick. It strikes Rozehnal, falls to Rosicky who picks out Lokvenc with a fine ball. Great chance - but his shot is tame and Keller holds.
The Czechs, who have had some injury worries, now have a concern over Plasil.
Reyna slides through Plasil and that has to be a yellow card. It is, though the USA skipper protests.
Lokvenc gets beyond Onyemu, but he is penalised for holding down the American and, rather harshly, cautioned.
Plasil's lay-off finds the excellent Nedved coming forward. It is the prelude for a period of passing before O'Brien intervenes for the USA.
Two changes from Arena at half-time, but the USA look no nearer to finding a goal.
Johnson has taken a bit of a knock. Play stops for a second, but the substitute has not sustained any major damage.
It's all fairly crowded in the midfield, which suits the Czechs. Nedved, typically, is the man to find space, but Lokvenc is offside.
Convey can whip in a cross but, like several beforehand, he makes Cech's task easy.
Nedved bursts forward from midfield and goes down in a heap under Reyna's challenge. He appears hurt at first, but then recovers.
Nedved is harshly penalised for a high foot. US free kick, but Rozehnal heads it away.
Tough tackle by O'Brien on Nedved, and both players seem to have felt the effects of that.
Poborksy takes, Ujfalusi wins the header at the near post and it loops just past the far post - and Keller looked beaten.
The adventurous Grygera comes down the right wing again, and wins a free kick.
Reyna is now anchoring the midfield, and Arena needs him to dominate if the USA are to find a way back into this game.
Convey whips in a dangerous low ball, but Ujfalusi gets it away.
Johnson has joined McBride up front in a more attacking US line-up.
An early touch for Lokvenc, but he can't keep Poborsky's throw on.
Reyna has the first shot of the second half. It was well struck, but blocked by Rozehnal.
The USA make two changes for the second half - Cherundolo and Mastroni have gone off, Eddie Johnson and John O'Brien on to replace him.
That's half-time, and a terrific 45 minutes for the Czechs with excellent goals from Koller and Rosicky. Their only worry was Koller's injury.
Onyemu's long throw sails into the hands of Cech.
Koller disappears down the tunnel on a stretcher and you have to fear his World Cup is already over.
Convey finds Lewis, but his cross is straight at Cech. McBride needs better service.
This really looks like bad news for the giant striker, who is stretchered off. Baros, of course, wasn't fit to start, so they are a little short of strikers. On comes Lokvenc, a midget of 6ft 7in.
Now this is a concern for the Czechs. Koller goes down holding his hamstring after chasing a ball forwards.
Donovan drops deep and looks for Convey with a through ball. Ujfalusi gets in to intercept.
A real test for the USA. In such a competitive group, even one defeat can prove costly. What can Bruce Arena do to turn this around?
Nedved really is enjoying this free role. Now he combines with Grygera and Poborksy on the right.
The US need to get Beasley involved more - they have done more on Convey's flank.
Lewis' cross is deep. Cech back-pedals and sees it land on the roof of his net.
At the other end, Donovan has a shot blocked as the US pour forward. They win a corner.
The American keeper had no chance, but he may be asking questions why no one picked up the midfielder.
WHAT A GOAL! Rosicky, from 25 yards, curls an unstoppable shot past Keller.
Good spell of passing from the US ends with Donovan laying the ball back to Cherundolo to cross, but Rozehnal meets it with a firm header.
Once again, Koller thinks he is away and once again, he is halted by an offside flag.
Which is taken short. Nedved crosses, Grygera volleys from beyond the back post, but he can't find Koller.
Fine ball over the top from Rosicky to Nedved, who gets in behind Pope. The defender recovers and concedes the corner.
Mastroni's pass to Lewis goes astray and gifts the Czechs the ball back.
Now Nedved finds a little room and picks out Poborsky. His cross loops up off Lewis, but Keller claims.
Beasley has a crack from 30 yards, but that's a rather worse effort, hit with the outside of the boot and sailing wide.
But here come the USA with first Donovan and then Reyna. He connects sweetly with a shot from 25 yards and it rebounds off the bottom of the post.
Rosicky and Nedved are happy to stroll around the midfield. They don't need the goal now, and don't need to commit men forward
Beasley comes inffield in search of the ball. He finds Convey, but Grygera makes a fine challenge.
Stats show that the USA have had more of the ball so far, but not really in positions to hurt the Czechs, already looking accomplished on the counter attack.
And so far, crosses are proving a real problem for the USA - and not just those directed at Koller.
But it comes to Nedved again and Grygera meets his cross with a powerful header that is too high to test Cech.
A Czech free kick wide on the left. Nedved whips it in and Pope covers well to clear.
Plasil goes to the corner flag, but the throw goes to the USA.
Reyna crosses to the back post, but there's no one there. Galasek can clear, and does.
Nedved has something of a free role and is already looking a major influence today.
Reyna flicks the ball to Convey, he crosses to Beasley, but his header goes behind, despite an appeal for a corner.
Nedved reacts quickest to Koller's flick, but the Czech midfielder is then unfortunate to be penalised.
Reyna switches play to Lewis on the left. then it is Convey, but the US struggle to find the room to cross as the Czechs defend doggedly.
Koller gets in behind the US defence but he's ruled offside.
Reyna with the free kick, but Beasley is then robbed by Nedved.
And the US counter-attack with Donovan. He beats Rozehnal, the defender brings him down and it is a booking.
Now Plasil comes forward, plays a one-two with Koller and the move breaks down
Firm tackle by Rosicky as Beasley sprints along the right touchline.
Onyewu's long ball finds McBride, but he can't quite keep it in. He needs Beasley and Donovan nearer him to have an impact.
McBride doesn't have enough support when he gets into the USA box, and the midfield aren't close enough.
Beasley finds Reyna whose cross is deflected behind by Galasak. It should have been a corner, but isn't.
At the other end, Jankulovski gets forward and both Czech full backs have been quick to advance at every possible opportunity.
Pope heads well wide from a cross. He was up for the set piece.
Another cross from the left is headed behind by Ujfalusi under pressure from McBride.
Convey whips in a cross from the left and Cech dives forward at the near post to gather.
Rosicky thinks he has released Nedved with a header but the offside flag denies the Juve man.
Convey and Lewis combine on the left, but the Czechs are defending in numbers.
Neat play from the Czechs as Galasek and Nedved link up. With five in midfield, they could be tough to break down now.
A rather ambitious pass is too far for Donovan to chase and the USA need to get on the ball.
The Czechs are content for the Americans to pass the ball along their back four.
A nightmare start for the USA, who were struggling even before Koller's goal.
Terrific ball from Nedved to Grygera there and Koller's header gave Keller no chance.
GOAL! Koller with an unstoppable header at the near post. Grygera got to the byline and whipped in a superb cross.
Rosicky takes the free kick, but his chip has too much weight on it and its simple for Keller.
Nedved is dropping deep to make a fifth man in midfield. Then he goes forward, is brought down and Onyewu is booked for that trip.
Cherundolo's chip lands on the roof of Cech's net, but it was nore of a cross than a shot.
The Americans look for Donovan with a cross but Ujfalusi intercepts.
Ambitious shot from the right back Grygera - some way over the bar from 30 yards.
It looks as though Plasil, the deputy for Baros, will be wide on the left with Nedved trying to support Koller.
Jankulovski takes, but a free kick is awarded for pushing on Mastroeni.
Beasley's poor touch gives the Czechs the first throw, and then Koller wins the first free kick.
The Czechs kick off looking to justify their FIFA ranking - 2nd in the world.
Time for the opening game in Group E, which looks the second toughest in the World Cup. Italy and Ghana meet later, and it is no exaggeration to suggest any two could qualify.
The teams are in for the USA's opening game against the Czechs, who are without the injured Baros.
