Arsenal's European campaign started slowly but they finished strongly to beat a lacklustre Lokomotiv and finish this phase of the CL as winners of Group B.

Gurenko attacks down the right and plays Parks into the box with a perfect throughball. The Costa Rica striker fluffs his chance to shoot and Cygan recovers to make the tackle.

Khoklov finds space on the right. Parks can't control his cross and Pires has to block Gurenko's shots.

Lokomotiv have the ball but all they seem able to do is pass it around at the back. I have seen them play much better than this.
Cole crosses from the left. Bergkamp jumps too early and his header flashes wide of Ovchinnikov's lefthand post.
Parks goes off for some treatment but is okay to continue.
The same cannot be said for Parks, who is injured after a challenge with Vieira.
Evseev and Cole clash in the air, both players went for the ball and both are okay as play continues.

Parks tries to trick his way through midfield. Vieira makes the tackle and launches an Arsenal attack - Sennikov snuffs it out.
Gurenko gets stuck but Maminov loses the ball in midfield for Lokomotiv.
Pires picks out Toure at the back post. The defender sidefoots his strike over the bar. Terrible effort.
Bergkamp's blocked pass falls to Toure, who blasts off a long-range shot that Ovchinnikov palms over the bar.
Maminov skips past Ljungberg but his forward ball is intercepted by Cygan.
Lokomotiv have changed to a 5-3-2 to a 4-4-1 with Parks as the lone striker.
Lokomotiv get the second-half underway and have made two changes. Parks and Gurenko replace Ashvetia and Buznikin.
Lokomotiv are down to ten men but the Gunners only lead 1-0 despite their dominance. However, Soccernet's resident Gunner Lawrence will be happy if it stays that way.

Lokomotiv are putting no pressure on the man with the ball, Arsenal have all the time in the world to look for a pass.
...Ovchinnikov palms away Henry's dipping shot and Vieira slices his strike from the rebound well wide.
Evseev blocks Henry's run and the wing-back gets booked. Arsenal have a freekick on the edge of the box......
Ljungberg takes a knock from Lekcetho. The Swede rolls around on the pitch but eventually gets up.
Cole and Pires combine on the left, but Sennikov reads the situation and clears for Lokomotiv.
Campbell muscles Ashvetia off the ball and the Gunners resume their passing game.
Loskov tries three successive through-balls but each one is blocked by the Gunners defence.

Toure's cross is palmed away by the Ovchinnikov. Ljungberg tries to chip the keeper but his attempt ends up on the roof of the net.
Henry bamboozles Sennikov and curls a shot past the defender and inches wide of the post.
Cygan lofts the ball to Henry, who finds Ljungberg on the right. The Swede whips in a cross but nobody has gambled on making a near post run.
Vieria shrugs off Maminov. Arsenal switch flanks and are happy to keep the ball in midfield.
Vieira chips the ball to Bergkamp, who comes inside and slices a curling shot wide of Ovchinnikov's lefthand post.
Lokomotiv managed to mount a decent attack there, Arsenal cannot afford to lose concentration.
Loskov picks up a loose ball. Evseev probes the right flank and whips in a cross. Kohklov's shot is blocked by Campbell.
Sennikov's back pass is too short, Pashinin's clearance hits Pires and bounces back to the keeper Ovchinnikov.
Buznikin gets some space on the right flank. His cross is poor and the forward hangs his head in shame.
Cole gets behind the defence and pulls the ball back for Henry. Pashinin slides in with a vital tackle.
Ashvetia comes deep to get the ball but Lokomotiv are still going backwards and the move inevitably results in a hoof upfield.
Bergkamp delivers the cross. Lekcetho clears after a scramble in the penalty box.

A great start for the Gunners and now Lokomotiv must push forward as they look for an equalizer.

Buznikin chips the ball forward for Ashvetia to chase. Cygan sticks out a foot and makes an important interception.
Lokomotiv are certainly sitting back, they haven't mounted an attack as yet.
Lokomotiv clear the corner at the near post. Cole battles down the left but can't find a way through.
Henry fires his shot into the wall, his second attempt has the same result and Cole settles for a corner.
Gilberto wins the ball in midfield. Lekcetho scythes down Bergkamp, gets booked and gives away a freekick.
Toure probes the right for Arsenal, the defender is crowded out and Lekcetho comes away with the ball.
Ignashevich brings the ball out of defence, nutmegs Vieira but can't find Ashvetia with the killer pass.
Vieira picks out Henry - popping up on the right wing - but his pass is to heavy and the striker can't keep the ball in play.
