LONDON -- Thibaut Courtois has trained with the Chelsea squad after recovering from an ankle injury and should be available to face Tottenham in Saturday's FA Cup semifinal, head coach Antonio Conte has said.
Asmir Begovic was given his first Premier League start of the season in Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Manchester United after Courtois suffered the injury during a promotional event, involving basketball, for Chelsea's preseason tour of China.
But the Belgium international resumed work at Cobham this week, while Marcos Alonso -- who withdrew from the starting XI at Old Trafford with a virus -- also took part in a session at Stamford Bridge on Friday and is expected to return at Wembley.
Asked whether he would consider banning his players from commercial activity following the injury to Courtois, Conte said: "The most important thing is that Thibaut recovered from his injury and he trained with us this week.
"Then I speak with my club, but when I speak with my club I think it's important to keep our conversation secret.
"Commercial work is very important for the club. But I repeat, it's important always to have a good link with all, and then to find the best solution to improve."
Gary Cahill, however, is unlikely to feature at Wembley after Conte confirmed he had ben taken to hospital with gastroenteritis earlier this week.
"For sure this period is not a lucky period for us," he said. "When we started to have training on Tuesday, he arrived at with a bit of fever and then our doctor preferred to bring him to the hospital and check his condition.
"It's not a serious problem, but now he is improving a lot. If you ask me, for tomorrow my answer is it's very difficult, yes."
Cahill's likely absence could open the door for John Terry to lead Chelsea out at Wembley days after confirming that he will end his 22-year stay at the club this summer.
But Conte's comments suggested Nathan Ake or Kurt Zouma would be a more likely replacement for Cahill.
He said: "I think the right position for John when we play with three central defenders is in the central position where David Luiz is playing.
"I have to make the best decision for the team, but we will try a different solution.
"For us he's a great captain. The problem is that John wants to play regularly, and for this reason I think that we have to respect his decision [to leave]."
