Michy Batshuayi realised 'childhood dream' with move to Chelsea

Michy Batshuayi says he has fulfilled a "childhood dream" by joining Chelsea.

The 22-year-old completed his move from Marseille earlier this month, and the Belgium international left for the U.S. on Sunday for their preseason tour in the International Champions Cup.

Batshuayi, who already scored for his new club in a friendly against Austrian side Atus Ferlach last week, said he can already tell the Chelsea have lofty goals for the upcoming season.

"It feels fantastic to be here, it's a childhood dream for me so I'm very happy," Batshuayi told Chelsea's magazine.

"It's a magnificent feeling. Just being at the training ground for one day I can see it's very big and you feel you've joined a club that really want to win. Everything is new and that is exciting."

Batshuayi also said he was excited to play for new boss Antonio Conte, who won three straight Serie A titles with Juventus before moving on to Italy.

"It's a great opportunity," Batshuayi said. "He is a manager who works very hard and likes people to work hard for him as well. I am very pleased to come and play for him here at Chelsea."

On their U.S. tour, Chelsea will face Liverpool in Pasadena, Calif., on Wednesday (ESPN), followed by tests against Real Madrid on July 30 in Michigan (ESPN) and AC Milan on Aug. 3 in Minnesota (ESPN2).
