Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma nearing comeback after knee injury

Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma hopes to be available for selection within two months following his long-term knee injury.

Zouma, 21, suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in February and subsequently missed the remainder of the season and Euro 2016 with France.

The centre-back returned to training on Monday and now has his sights on making his comeback for Antonio Conte's side.

"I've been working alone for a while and now I'm training, learning and improving with the guys. I didn't know I would be back on the training pitch by now, I thought it would be a bit later," Zouma told the club's official website.

"My knee is OK and I don't have any pain, which is great. I'm not fit enough yet but hopefully in six weeks or a couple of months I will be, we will have to wait and see."

Zouma signed for Chelsea from St Etienne in 2014 and he has since made 38 Premier League appearances for the club.
