Chelsea set to hire Italy goalkeeping coach Gianluca Spinelli - reports

Chelsea are looking into the possibility of hiring Italy goalkeeping coach Gianluca Spinelli in a bid to satisfy disgruntled goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, according to reports in the British press.

Spinelli is currently working under incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte at Euro 2016, but The Guardian reports that he could be attracted by the prospect of following his colleague to Stamford Bridge once Italy's campaign in France is over.

The Telegraph reports that Spinelli's arrival is almost certain to see long-serving goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon leave Chelsea.

Lollichon arrived at Stamford Bridge in November 2007 from Rennes on the recommendation of Petr Cech, and was credited with helping refine the Czech Republic international into one of the world's best goalkeepers.

But Lollichon's future has become the subject of intense speculation ever since reports of tension between him and Courtois emerged, and in May interim manager Guus Hiddink admitted that the two men had "different personalities."

Conte has spoken to Courtois more than once since he was confirmed as Chelsea's new first team head coach in April and has concluded that he and Lollichon should no longer work together, according to the Telegraph.

Both newspapers report that Chelsea's desire to keep Courtois happy will see No.2 goalkeeper Asmir Begovic leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Outgoing Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda is currently the likeliest replacement, having held talks with Chelsea officials in recent weeks over a potential free transfer.
