Eduardo Berizzo: Fabian Orellana 'will no longer be a part of' Celta Vigo

Celta Vigo coach Eduardo Berizzo announced on Tuesday that Fabian Orellana will not play for his side again after the Chile international showed an "unacceptable lack of respect" towards him.

Orellana, left out of Celta's last two games for technical reasons, trained separately from the rest of the squad in Monday's session.

The 30-year-old winger has not travelled with the team to the Spanish capital for Wednesday's Copa del Rey quarterfinal first leg at Real Madrid.

Asked about Orellana's absence, Berizzo said in Tuesday's news conference: "I decided to leave out Orellana because of an unacceptable lack of respect towards me.

"My decision is firm and I told the club, who are in agreement. As long as I'm here, he will no longer be a part of this team."

Orellana, who is in his fifth campaign with Celta and is under contract with the Vigo-based club until June 2019, has not apologised for his actions, according to his coach.

"He has not apologised but it doesn't matter," Berizzo said.

The Argentine coach did not reveal the incident that drove him to make such drastic decision.

However, AS reported that Orellana is trying to force his way out of Celta with an unnamed Spanish club keen to acquire him in the winter transfer window.

"One thing is discipline and another issue is disrespect," Berizzo said. "I have announced my decision and that's the end of it."

Berizzo does not believe Orellana's controversy will hurt his side.

"It's not going to affect the team in view of tomorrow's game," he said.

Injuries have limited Orellana to just nine appearances for Celta this season.

Celta go into the encounter at the Bernabeu on the back of Sunday's 1-0 home triumph over Deportivo Alaves.

The outcome lifted the Galician side to eighth in La Liga.
