Borussia Dortmund's Youssoufa Moukoko, 12, scores four for U17s

Twelve-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko doubled his tally for the season after scoring four goals in Borussia Dortmund under-17's 6-1 win against Viktoria Cologne on Saturday.

Moukoko, born on Nov. 24, 2004, went into the match with four goals from just two games this season, and it took him less than two minutes to open the scoring.

The Cameroon-born player then made it 3-0 shortly before half-time and added a second-half brace to take his tally for the season to eight goals from only three games.

While his age has been questioned by some, his father Joseph has said that there is no reason to doubt it, explaining in April that the player's mother, Marie, "is only 28."

"I can only say positive things about him," Dortmund U17 coach Sebastian Geppert told Die Welt earlier this week. "Youssoufa likes to compete with older players. It would be unfair to still play him in the U15s."

Last term, Moukoko scored 33 goals for Dortmund's U15 team after joining from St Pauli in 2016.

"There are worse situations than getting a player who can stay with the team for four years," Geppert said.

Klaus Brack, who hosts the player in Dortmund following his own move from Hamburg, added: "He calls me grandad. Youssoufa knows exactly where he is headed, but sometimes you can see that he's still a small boy."
