Borussia Dortmund's Marc Bartra set to return to squad at Augsburg

Borussia Dortmund defender Marc Bartra is set to return to the matchday squad at Augsburg just over a month after he was injured in the attack on the club's team bus.

Bartra, 26, was the only player to sustain serious injuries in the explosives attack, which happened on April 11 ahead of the home leg of their Champions League quarterfinal against Monaco.

Earlier this week, the Spain international resumed training at Adi-Preissler-Allee after recovering from surgery on his right hand and wrist.

Speaking at his prematch news conference, head coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Barta would return to the squad if he was allowed to play wearing a protective splint.

"From all I have seen in training, I can say he will be in the squad 100 percent," Tuchel said.

"I am not sure if I can call him up to the squad with this splint. But if the rules allow it, he will be in. I'd like to think that it will be fine."
