Christian Pulisic delighted as Borussia Dortmund season brings UCL 'dream'

Christian Pulisic has told Borussia Dortmund's club TV channel he is "delighted" with his first full season as a Bundesliga player.

Pulisic, 18, made his first-team debut in February 2016, and the United States winger is set for his 40th competitive appearance of this season against Cologne on Saturday.

He has played in every competitive match for the club in 2017 -- their only player to do so.

"I am delighted with this season. We brought in a lot of new players last summer, and wasn't too sure whether I'd play that much," he said.

"I worked incredibly hard in training. It was always my dream to play in the Champions League. When you are out there and hear the anthem, it's just a wonderful feeling."

In the summer of 2016, there had been speculation that Pulisic could leave Dortmund after being linked with Liverpool and RB Leipzig, but he stayed and signed a new deal until 2020.

He said: "I miss my family every day, all of them. It's a new step for me. It's hard, but I feel good here at Dortmund. The people are all very nice."
