Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze will not play again this season as he receives treatment for a metabolic disorder, the club have confirmed. Gotze, 24, was diagnosed with the disorder last month and withdrawn from training. In a statement, Dortmund said the Germany international "can start back training in early summer" if he responds well to treatment and had "spoken positively" about its effects so far. CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said: "BVB wishes Mario Gotze a fast recovery, also in the name of their 10 million fans." Earlier this month, Gotze's father told Bild his son was "feeling OK." His condition was discovered following several muscular problems after his return to Dortmund from Bayern Munich in the summer. Jurgen Gotze added: "We all must have patience. He needs to liven up again first."
