Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel confident despite injury woes

Borussia Dortmund begin the second half of their Bundesliga campaign on Saturday without several key players for the trip to Werder Bremen.

Dortmund -- sixth in the table and 12 points behind leaders Bayern Munich -- are only three points off third place, which carries automatic qualification for the Champions League, despite their underwhelming season so far.

They will be without the injured Sven Bender, Neven Subotic, Nuri Sahin, Emre More and Roman Burki, while prolific striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is at the African Nations Cup.

But Tuchel said he believed his depleted team could pick up three points at the Weserstadion as action resumes following the winter break.

"We are prepared to play the match the way we have to play it," he said. "I think what is important that we're aware how we want to play it, what intensity, will, resilience and edge we will add to it."

Tuchel is set to play Andre Schurrle in central attack and added: "He now has the chance to become an important factor for us."
