Borussia Dortmund break Champions League group goal scoring record

Borussia Dortmund qualified for the Champions League round of 16 as the competition's all-time top scorers in the group stage with 21 goals in six games.

Thomas Tuchel's side earned their place in the knockout round as Group F winners after fighting back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

They are unbeaten in Europe this campaign having come through the group with four wins and two draws, including 6-0 and 8-4 wins against Legia Warsaw.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Marco Reus are Dortmund's joint-top goal scorers with four goals each. Behind them Shinji Kagawa netted twice and 11 players scored once each.

Dortmund edged out Barcelona, who made it into the knockout stages on Wednesday with 20 goals scored, a tally that equalled Real Madrid in 2013-14, Manchester United in 1998-99 and Barca in 2011-12.
