Video: Argentinian player banned for SIX YEARS for beating referee to a pulp

Leandro Schiavi (younger brother of Boca Juniors centre-half Rolando) has been banned from football for six years for his part in a horrifying assault on referee Dario Fuenes during an Argentinian fourth-tier game between Club Jorge Newbery and Huracan earlier this month.

After Schiavi was shown a second yellow card 17 minutes into the second half, he and his teammates crowded the referee and began raining in blows, with the cowardly Schiavi kicking the official in the head after he had gone to ground.

Schiavi and two of his teammates were given six-year bans while four others were given one-year bans.

Rightly so.
