Wigan's James McArthur refuses to miss Arsenal-Bayern while wife in in labour

Being hopelessly addicted to football can certainly have its pitfalls, especially when pesky "major life events" crop up at the very same time you're trying to hunker down and watch a big game on television. Just ask James McArthur.

Rather inconsiderately, the Wigan and Scotland midfielder's pregnant wife decided to go into labour shortly before Arsenal's Champions League last-16 tie with Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.

Thankfully, McArthur had the foresight to have a television rigged up next to her hospital bed so he wouldn't have to miss a minute of the action while she did all the sweaty huffing and puffing while delivering their baby into the world . . .

For the record, it seemed that everything went to plan -- especially if McArthur's very next Tweet was anything to go by.

Altogether now: Awwww.
