All babies born in Brazil on Tuesday to be given free World Cup football

To coincide with the big reveal of their new official 2014 World Cup matchball, Adidas have vowed that every baby born in Brazil on Tuesday will be given a free football as part of a promo campaign based on the principle that every Brazilian is born with a ball "by their feet."

"We know how important the World Cup is to Brazil and for that reason we have found it fit to present this most Brazilian of balls to those who inspired its creation," Adidas' World Cup marketing director Rodrigo Messias said.

The ball itself is called the 'Brazuca', an informal word which Brazilians often use to describe a feeling of unified national pride in their homeland, and Adidas are hoping to spread the brazuca around by giving a replica ball to every baby born next Tuesday (Dec. 3) to help give them the best possible start in life...from a strictly footballing perspective.

Parents will then be able to redeem their baby's Brazuca by presenting their newborn's birth certificate at one of Adidas' designated pick-up points in all 12 of Brazil 2014's host cities between 10am and 6pm on Dec. 6 and 7.
