Sound the 'gigantic sense of humour failure' klaxon, we've got a live one!
Scottish side Hibernian have sacked their stadium announcer, one Willie Docherty, for the heinous crime of poking a bit of fun at financially-stricken local rivals Hearts during half-time in Hibs' SPL game against Dundee United last Sunday.
A spokesman for Hibs said: "The stadium announcer's contract has been terminated following a breach of conduct."
Allow us to divulge the 'breach of conduct' in question here: with a nod to Hearts facing liquidation over an unpaid HMRC tax bill (to the tune of £450,000), Docherty played 'Taxman' by The Beatles during the interval - a fairly gentle jibe which has ultimately cost him his job at Easter Road.
Poor old Willie's not going to want to hear this for a very long while...
