Photo: Alberto Gilardino has new tattoo of Peppa Pig at daughters' request

Having almost incomprehensible amounts of weekly disposable income, vast swathes of free time to fill and an innate inability to express themselves individually leads the vast majority of footballers to get huge, ugly, largely identical tattoos these days. It's just what happens.

As is his wont, Alberto Gilardino has recently followed suit and had a new tattoo done, though, rather than merely opt for a design from the usual line of unimaginative footballing ink (think: indecipherable tatt sleeves, mother's faces/names, pseudo religious bumph, gigantic viking graveyards, etc), the Genoa and Italy striker has instead plumped for something a little more light-hearted.

As a tribute to the favourite television show of his three young daughters Ginevra, Gemma and Giulia, Gilardino has had an indelible image of Peppa Pig etched onto his bicep...

Toe Poke still can't quite decide if this is brilliant or utterly naff.

We'd also suggest that this must be the first Peppa Pig tattoo ever requested by an adult male, yet we fear a quick Google Image Search may prove us instantly wrong!
