Video: Fenerbahce fans congregate outside Arsenal hotel, set off fireworks to keep them awake

In what appears to be an increasingly popular intimidation tactic used by ultras across Europe, a small but incredibly loud mob of Fenerbahce fans congregated outside Arsenal's team hotel late Tuesday evening. Word had spread on social media that the Gunners were staying at the Wyndham Hotel Kalamis in Istanbul the night before the first leg of the two sides' Champions League playoff tie.

The Fener fans then set about creating as much noise as possible on the street underneath the players' rooms, setting off red flares, firecrackers and fireworks in an attempt to prevent the Arsenal squad from getting a decent night's sleep before the big game...

Several members of the Arsenal squad tweeted about the bedlam breaking loose on the street below their windows, with Jack Wilshere commenting about the "visitors" outside at 11 p.m. and Aaron Ramsey filming the scenes and adding -- "Got a bit lively outside our hotel last night!! Focused on the game now, let's bring something back to the Emirates."

Perhaps Aston Villa fans employed the same tactics last Friday night?
