Video: Germany keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen concedes laughably rubbish own-goal against USA

The US men's national side pulled off a surprise 4-3 victory over Germany's second string in Washington DC on Sunday night, with Clint Dempsey knocking home a brace to take his international goal tally to 35, soft-shoe shuffling past Eric Wynalda into second place in the the all-time USA scoring chart, 14 goals behind Landon Donovan out in front.

Jozy Altidore opened the scoring, but it was the goal that saw the USA go 2-0 up that was truly worthy of another look as a panicky Benedikt Howedes, put under undue pressure by his goalkeeper in an ill-judged bid to "play out from the back", rolled the ball back to Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the German goal, only for his 'keeper to malfunction at the worst possible time...

OH NOES.
