Video: Finnish defender lights up shootout with audacious rabona spot-kick

Over in Finland, newly-promoted second tier side FC Ilves hosted a friendly against FC Hameenlinnaa to help limber up before the Ykkonen (second division) season begins in earnest.

Nothing remarkable about that. After finishing 1-1 after 90 minutes, the friendly went to penalties. Nothing remarkable about that either.

What was remarkable was the manner in which Ilves centre-back Jan Kulokorpi, having seen his side fall behind 0-2 in the shootout, decided to dispatch his spot-kick...



Ballsy stuff from a bruising defender, even if it was just a preseason friendly. What is it with these Finns and outrageous penalties?



Must be something in the water.
