Tottenham are preparing for life after Gareth Bale, with the Daily Mail reporting moves for Alvaro Morata and Roberto Soldado are close to being finalised.

20.21 BST: A quiet night in the transfer world tonight, although Vitesse Arnhem striker Mike Havenaar is reportedly attracting interest from Premier League clubs and could follow former team-mate Wilfried Bony to England.

19.00 BST: Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre has reiterated the club's stance that Luis Suarez is staying put. He told Sky Sports: "Despite what people think we've not had an intention of selling Luis, we've never said we want to sell Luis. He continues to work hard and train hard for Liverpool. That will continue and I'll expect him to be here at the start of the season."

18.40 BST: Vitesse technical director Ted van Leeuwen says striker Mike Havenaar is a transfer target for a number of English sides. "There have been a couple of agents who contacted us," he told Dutch magazine Voetbal International. "Is he for sale? Everyone is, but we don't want to see him going. However, the market is still open for another month and we also have other options to fill in."

18.20 BST: Duvan Zapata, a player QPR were claimed to be interested in a fortnight ago, has begun to talk up the Championship club's interest again. Zapata is unhappy with the directors of his club, Estudiantes, and is reported to have said: "They owe my colleagues and I a lot of money, & don't seem to want to pay up."

17.40 BST: Unlike earlier reports this week, Borussia Monchengladbach are not hoping to offload Germany Under-21 international Peniel Mlapa. The club's sporting director informed those who are interested via their official Facebook page.

17.20 BST: While the German media have mainly slammed Robert Lewandowski for his claims that Borussia Dortmund have treated him unfairly the club have stayed calm. Dortmund CEO Aki Watzke told kicker: “What is written in foreign media is of no interest to me. It’s not worth commentating it. Our position has not changed”.

Meanwhile, coach Jurgen Klopp said that there had been no difficulties within the team and that’s all he was concerned about. Meanwhile, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has returned to training and will be back with the team by next week but could still miss the first league game against Augsburg. “The lad has to be fit for a long season,” Klopp told kicker.

16.30 BST: Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of Uruguayan midfielder Diego Laxalt from Defensor Sporting. The 20-year-old moves to the San Siro after signing a five-year contract, reports Sky Sports.

16.18 BST: The Daily Star reports that West Brom have given up on an attempt to sign Darren Bent. He is looking certain to move to Fulham now.

16.09 BST: Badische Zeitung reports that SC Freiburg are close to signing the 22-year-old Czech international Vladmir Darida from Viktoria Plzen.

15.56 BST: Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Hubner has told the German press that Sparta Prague's Vaclav Kadlec wants to join Frankfurt but they will not wait forever and have set an ultimatum to make Prague sell the 21-year old attacker.

15.20 BST: Wigan Athletic owner Dave Whelan says he will not stand in the way of his players if they want to move to bigger clubs. He says no bids are on the table though. He does admit that Callum McManaman and James McCarthy will be hard to keep hold of. He also says a new signing is set to be announced shortly.

15.08 BST: Pepe Reina says Liverpool is now behind him and he wants to do well for Napoli. He says he is proud to have played nearly 400 games for Liverpool and will have friends there for life. "I'm not disappointed with the club, but satisfied for everything they gave me."

14.50 BST: Southampton and Steve De Ridder have mutually agreed to cancel the player's contract. The 26-year-old joined The Saints in 2011.

14.35 BST: Besiktas coach Slaven Bilic has admitted that club are keen to lure Atletico Mineiro star Ronaldinho away from his current club, reports SambaFoot.com.

14.25 BST: Doncaster Rovers have signed One Direction band member Louis Tomlinson. The 21-year-old will feature for the club in a charity match in September. Not sure what else his contract stipulates. It's been said that he is a "non-contract player."

14.11 BST: Hoffenheim have sent Afriyie Acquah, 21, on a one-year loan to AC Parma. The Ghana international signed for Hoffenheim in January from Palermo.p/

14.00 BST: Michel Bastos, 29, on his way out of Schalke. The former Brazil international is set to join Al-Ain in the United Arab Emirates. Bastos is on loan from Lyon, and from today on, can sell Bastos to a third club after Schalke did not use their buy option. Schalke already tried to lure Germany international Sidney Sam away from Leverkusen, but failed to do so, kicker reports.

13.46 BST: AC Milan are no closer to signing Keisuke Honda from CSKA Moscow after talks were held between the player's brother and FIFA agent and Ernesto Bronzetti in Milan. According to Italy's Sky Sport 24 channel, Honda's brother and Bronzetti emerged from talks without the deadlock being broken in Milan's attempt to sign the forward this summer rather than waiting until January, when he could arrive on a free transfer. Further talks could well be held in Munich, where Milan are participating in the Audi Cup, between Rossoneri officials and CSKA president Yevgeny Giner.

13.31 BST: More breaking news. Chelsea have extended Henrique Hilario's contract at the club for another season. The 37-year-old is the 4th professional goalkeeper at the club alongside Petr Cech, Mark Schwarzer, and Jamal Blackman.

13.25 BST: DONE DEAL: Quick work from Queens Park Rangers. They have now confirmed the signing of Charlie Austin from Burnley. The 24-year-old has signed a three-year deal joining for an undisclosed fee.

12.38 BST: Atletico Mineiro star Bernard has insisted that money will not be the deciding factor in his decision to leave Brazil, reports Sambafoot.com. Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, and Shakhtar Donetsk have been linked. In fact the Ukrainian club reportedly had a bid accepted by the Brazilians. The youngsters future is yet to be decided though.

12.14 BST: Steven Caulker talking to Sky Sports News after his move to Cardiff City from Spurs: "I'm looking forward to the challenge. Looking forward to working with Malky MacKay. This is not a step down from Spurs, I want to help the club progress." MacKay says Cardiff are NOT done with their business in the transfer window.

12.10 BST: Alexander Madlung's transfer to FC Augsburg might take a while until it can be completed. The former Germany international, a free agent, has already been in Augsburg to discuss a deal but it is believed the centre-back and Augsburg have not agreed on a salary yet. "It has to stay within our limits. Then we will do it," Augsburg coach Markus Weinzierl told kicker.

11.09 BST: Lyon are set to make their third signing of the summer by completing a move for Montpellier full-back Henri Bedimo. They'll also move for Lorient striker Jeremie Aliadiere should Bafetimbi Gomis or Lisandro Lopez leave. In the next day or two, Michel Bastos, on loan at Schalke last season, is set to move to United Arab Emirates club Al Ain for €4.5 million.

10.54 BST: Following on the Soldado news, Superdeporte claimed earlier today that a deal was signed by Valencia at 00:30 last night and the striker will undergo a medical today or Friday in London before signing a contract with Spurs. 08.50 BST: Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti says the club are now are in talks to sign Gareth Bale from Spurs. The Italian spoke in a press conference today and said: "I believe the club is in talks to find a solution and we will see what happens. It is difficult to talk about Bale because he is not a Real Madrid player at present. I have never spoken to him, I do not usually talk to players who are not from my team and it would not be fair to do so."

08.45 BST: Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio says he is not leaving the club: "Of course I like being linked with Europe's top clubs, but my dream is to end my career with Juve." Manchester United had been linked with the 27-year-old.

08.22 BST: ESPN FC contributor Andy Brassell provides details on the Roberto Soldado deal for Spurs. However, reports in Valencia suggest the deal is €12million, then 3 payments of €6million.

07.30 BST: Tottenham Hotspur are keen for Real Madrid youngster Alvaro Morata to be part of the mooted €100 million transfer of Gareth Bale, according to reports in the British press. Full story.

06:01 BST: Everton legend Neville Southall has warned his former club not to sign Joey Barton, who has been outspoken about his desire to move to Goodison Park. Surprisingly, Barton didn't lash out at Southall on Twitter.

The Daily Mail claims a deal has been reached in principle for the sale of Bale to Real Madrid and suggests Los Blancos striker Alvaro Morata could be part of an exchange deal. The 20-year-old has struggled for regular football at the Bernabeu, but became highly soughtafter following the Uefa Under-21 European Championships in June, where he scored four goals for Spain. Meanwhile, Spurs are also close to landing Valencia striker Roberto Soldado in a deal reportedly worth £26 million.

The Mirror reports Barcelona are only willing to spend £30 million as they attempt to lure Chelsea's David Luiz to the Camp Nou. The Spanish champions may face stubborn resistance from the Blues, though, with Luiz supposedly rated at £40 million. It is believed Neymar may be utilised to twist his Brazil team-mate's arm, but Jose Mourinho has given Luiz assurances over his playing future at Stamford Bridge. Bayern Munich denied any interest in Luiz last week.

The Luis Suarez saga looks to slowly be on the wane, with the Daily Star insisting Liverpool's stance on keeping their star striker hasn't changed. Manager Brendan Rodgers reiterated his desire to keep hold of Suarez on Wednesday and it is believed the Uruguayan is close to confirming he will remain at Anfield.

Newcastle United have turned their attention to QPR striker Loic Remy after falling short on a move for Darren Bent. Bent now appears set to join Fulham or Crystal Palace and Newcastle Director of Football Joe Kinnear is under pressure to secure an important signing this summer. Remy's search for a new club continues, with QPR giving him permission to search for a new home after the R's were relegated. The Telegraph suggests a loan deal for Remy with an option to buy looks most likely, although there are also whispers that the Toon could have their previous £7 million offer for Lyon's Bafetimbi Gomis accepted, despite the French club rejected it last week.
