Tottenham star Gareth Bale is said to be furious after the club refused to sanction negotiations between he and Real Madrid, despite the Spanish giants making a record £81 million offer for the Welshman.

17:28 BST: It seems the Daily Mail refuse to let go of the fact Barcelona are not selling Cesc Fabregas. They say the Spanish midfielder has told his friends he wants to move to Old Trafford and play under David Moyes. Who knows.

17:23 BST: Nottingham Forest have missed out on Al Ahly youngster Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” after the two clubs could not reach an agreed fee. The 19-year-old was looking to move on loan to the Championship side but a deal fell through when the Egyptian club said that no-one had come close to offering his true valuation.

17:11 BST: Jose Mourinho isn't known for his love of using untried youngsters but he is desperate to sign Burkina Faso international and 17-year-old Bertrand Traore to go straight into the Chelsea first-team. There have been issues obtaining him a work permit and Mourinho told reporters, "For a 17-year-old boy, sooner or later, the committee has to give him a permit to play in England."

17:06 BST: Roberto Martinez is leading the race for the signature of Scott Sinclair. The Manchester City outcast was told he could leave the club under Roberto Mancini and his position has become no different under Manuel Pellegrini. Stoke, West Brom and Southampton are all interested as well.

17:00 BST: Zenit St Petersburg are confident of signing Mirko Vucinic from Juventus following the Bianconeri capturing Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez. Tutto Mercato Web say a €15m bid should be enough to get Juve round the negotiating table.

16:47 BST: Phil Bardsley risked the wrath of Paolo Di Canio when he was pictured in a casino at the back end of last season. Now he is up for sale and Sky Sports News say Fulham, Newcastle and Blackburn are all interested in the player's signature.

16:30 BST: Real Sociedad are looking to fill the creative midfield void left by Asier Illaramendi with Barcelona's Jonathan Dos Santos. El Mundo Deportivo say La Union hope to agree a loan deal for the Mexican by the end of this week.

16:21 BST: Italian side Livorno have confirmed the loan transfer of Samuele Longo from Inter and are said to be close to signing Colombian Sergio Mosquera. The 19-year-old midfielder currently plays for Envigado FC and could arrive in a €250,000 deal.

16:12 BST: Arsenal youngster Joel Campbell has signed for Olympiacos on loan. Although not officially announced, he tweeted this all but confirming he has joined the Greek Champions. Will be very good Champions League experience for the kid.

16:04 BST: Lyon's Naby Sarr, U20 World Cup winning midfielder, is available for loan as the French club look to give him more first team experience. L'Equipe don't name them but there are apparently two Ligue 1 teams very interested.

16:00 BST: Dutch international full-back Daryl Janmaat has told Sky Sports News he is aware of interest in him from Inter Milan but has not had word of any concrete offers as yet. The Feyenoord defender scored three times and set up five goals in 39 appearances last season.

15:53 BST: Napoli are never too far away from providing some more transfer news. Aurelio De Laurentiis has recently tweeted that any reports claiming Napoli had made a huge bid for PSG's Marco Verratti were false and that the two club's were 'friends' and he didn't want to unsettle one of their players.

15:46 BST: Troubled QPR midfielder Joey Barton has been given a take-it-or-leave-it offer by Marseille. It is no secret the 30-year-old wants a permanent move away from QPR but if he is to remain at Marseille, he must accept a £25k a week deal which is a more than 50% cut on his current £70k wages.

15:41 BST: Javier Pastore's agent has told any clubs interested in him to not waste their time because the Argentine is not for sale. Marcelo Simonian told calciomercato.com, "Pastore to Rome? Impossible because PSG have never made him available for sale."

15:31 BST: Sergio Asenjo has joined Villareal from Atletico Madrid on a year long loan. Then Spanish goalkeeper said it was important that he was made to feel important and he would get that from El Submarino Amarillo.

15:25 BST: Roma have left Marco Borriello and Mattia Destro out of their squad to travel to the US on a pre-season tour, naturally fuelling rumours both strikers are set to leave the club. Borriello is wanted by Genoa and Destro has no named suitors.

15:00 BST: Cardiff City's pursuit of Etienne Capoue remains even though there were reports in the week that the midfielder had flat out refused a move to the Welsh club. But the Toulouse chairman says any offers will have to at least match Cardiff's to be accepted.

14:51 BST: Real Valladolid have signed more Colombians than any other team in Spain. They signed Gilberto ‘Alcatraz’ Garcia from Once Caldes on loan and are rumoured to be close to signing Humberto Osorio according to various Colombian newspapers.

14:10 BST: It wouldn't be a transfer blog without a bit of an update on Bernard. The Atletico Mineiro forward's dad has spoken to the Brazilian press and confirmed there is interest from Arsenal but no official bids have been made for his son.

14:03 BST: Cardiff City and Swansea City will start their Premier League rivalry early as they fight it out over Hector Moreno. The Daily Mail say the defender is wanted by both Welsh clubs and could be available for around £4m from Espanyol.

13:35 BST: A Brazilian wonderkid rumour and it doesn't involve Bernard. Brazilian press are reporting that Botafogo's 18-year-old centre back Doria is attracting strong interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. The teenager is said to be available for around £8.1m.

13:30 BST: Olympiakos are after PSG's Mohamed Sissoko. The giant Malian midfielder could be available for as little as €2m, according to Gazzetto Dello Sport, after the 28-year-old found himself surplus to requirements at the Parc Des Princes last season.

11:36 BST: Roma have increased their €6m bid for Arsenal's Gervinho to something closer to a £10m package for the 26-year-old Ivorian. They're desperate to land the former Lille man and hope to tie up a deal this week.

11:31 BST: Udinese's Matej Vydra is very hot property following his successful season with Watford last year and is interesting plenty of clubs around Europe. But West Brom have made the first move and had a loan bid rejected by Udinese who want to hold on to the Czech striker.

04.55 BST: Reports out of Brazil suggest Barcelona are set to launch a bid for Chelsea defender David Luiz. It is said the offer will be in the region of £25 million for the Brazilian. Earlier this summer, Barca missed out on Paris Saint-Germain stopper Thiago Silva.

A report in The Sun regarding the record bid tabled by Madrid follows that of Spanish newspaper Marca, which claims Bale has told Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that he wants out of White Hart Lane. The winger was apparently told by his current employers that they would accept a mind-blowing offer from Real if it came in - but that is evidently not the case. Should the £81 million deal go ahead, it would eclipse the previous record of Real buying Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United in July 2009.

Speaking of ludicrous amounts of money, Manchester City's spending spree under new boss Manuel Pellegrini seems set to continue. The Daily Mirror states that comments from Pellegrini about expanding his squad pertain to City's quest to sign Real Madrid defender Pepe. Pellegrini is said to view the Portugal international as the final piece in his puzzle, as City aim to reclaim the Premier League title back from rivals United.

However, City are believed to be fighting to hold on to Edin Dzeko and Aleksandar Kolarov. The Daily Mail reports Galatasaray and Juventus are eyeing Kolarov, while Tottenham are keen on signing Dzeko. The pair struggled for game time last season, but Pellegrini is eager to keep them at Eastlands to ensure he has a strong squad to select from.
