While the Daily Mail claims the 26-year-old has told friends in England that he would welcome a move to Old Trafford.

The pursuit of Fabregas is somewhat mirrored by Arsenal's attempts to lure Luis Suarez to Emirates Stadium. The Reds are eager to hold onto their star striker and have turned down a couple of offers already. Soldado had seemed destined for Tottenham this summer, but negotiations have evidently stalled in recent weeks.

Also at White Hart Lane, Gareth Bale is set to ignore the continual overtures of Real Madrid to stay and fight to earn Spurs a Champions League spot this season. Despite being a long-time dream of Bale's to move to Madrid, the Welsh winger is prepared to snub an £80 million transfer in order to help his current club claim a UCL qualification windfall before moving on, the Daily Mail reports.
