22:48 BST: Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld has revealed he is considering his options following interest from Norwich City. “I’m still an Ajax player and I’m happy here. Maybe I’ll stay for a year,” the Belgium international, who has a year left on his contract, told Dutch television station AT5. “I wouldn’t rule out Norwich out of hand, but I certainly wouldn’t immediately say: ‘Yes’. Everything has to be right for me, whether that be Norwich City or any other club.”

22:02 BST: Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has said he is open to a move to Serie A at some stage. He told Sportitalia: "Serie A is a major championship in which I'd like to play one day. Which team do I like? Juventus, Inter and AC Milan are important clubs but I think Fiorentina are a very interesting team. I don't know why but I have always liked Fiorentina since (Gabriel) Batistuta played there."

21:37 BST: It's not transfer news as such, but NFL billionaire Shad Khan looks to have bought Fulham. Perhaps the Cottagers will be making some more signings in the near future. STORY HERE

21:07 BST: Luke Shaw has now signed a new five-year deal with Southampton.

21:05 BST: Sky Sports News reports Sebastian Coates has been told he is free to leave Liverpool.

20:23 BST: West Ham have applied for a work permit for Colombian forward Duvan Zapata, The Guardian reports. The Estudiantes man has yet to play for his country, which means the Hammers will have to argue that he is a "special talent".

19:41 BST: Here’s a video of AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani talking about his club’s hopes of signing Keisuke Honda in January.

18:29 BST: Marca offers an update on the Gonzalo Higuain situation: Arsenal, or any other club, have yet to put in a bid, while there is a very real chance the striker will stay put as Carlo Ancelotti wants to keep him. It appears the striker will be meeting club president Florentino Perez soon to talk about his wishes. You’ll recall that the striker said he was off at the end of last season.

18:19 BST: The Metro believes Daniele De Rossi to Chelsea is all but confirmed.

18:04 BST: Transfer gossip courtesy of Brian Moore. The former rugby union player. Feel free to disregard it.

Madrid want Ozil to stay, as it's clear someone will be offloaded from the now overcrowded Real midfield. The German international has struck up a fruitful partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo since joining in 2010. Here is a taste of that combination:
