The date has been set - Jose Mourinho will return to Chelsea on June 2.

That's according to the Daily Star, which is reporting outgoing Real Madrid manager Mourinho will fly into London on that date and sign a four-year contract worth £250,00-a-week.

That would leave Mourinho little time to say his goodbyes at the Bernabeu, with Madrid playing their final game of the season against Osasuna on June 1.

But Mourinho wants to get straight to work on his second coming at Stamford Bridge, with the Mirror suggesting the Special One has outlined a six-man transfer list to shoot the club back to the top of the Premier League.

At the top of the pyramid sits Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao, followed by Zenit St Petersburg's Hulk and Bayer Leverkusen forward Andre Schurrle.

Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala, Malaga midfielder Isco and Everton's Marouane Fellaini finish the Mourinho wish-list.

However, that calibre of players would cost the club in the vicinity of £100 million.

Meanwhile, across London, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to listen to offers for club captain Thomas Vermaelen. The Belgian defender had an indifferent season and Wenger has decided it's time to move him out of Emirates Stadium.

However, Wenger may have to take a loss from the £10 million he paid Ajax for the 27-year-old, and with the Mirror and the Daily Mail reporting both Manchester United and Barcelona are monitoring the situation, the pain could be doubled.

Staying in the English capital, the Guardian is reporting Tottenham are interested in signing both Brazil forward Leandro Damiao and Valencia's Roberto Soldado.

Crossing to the Premier League champions, Manchester United are weighing up signing Barcelona's Thiago Alcantara.

According to The Sun, new United manager David Moyes believes the Spain midfielder would be the perfect fit to fill the hole left by the retirement of Paul Scholes.

However, both Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund are also reported to be interested in Thiago, who has played 25 La Liga games for Barca this season.
