Arsene Wenger has stepped up his rebuilding campaign for next season, according to the Daily Star, with the Arsenal manager said to be preparing a massive summer bid for Malaga star Isco.

The Spanish 20-year-old has earned rave reviews this season, helping his team to fourth position in La Liga and a quarter-final spot in the Champions League, and now Wenger desperately wants the youngster to help his team return to the top of the Premier League.

The Frenchman is prepared to offer a whopping £30 million for a player who only made his La Liga debut just over two years ago, the Star reports. Wenger will face stiff competition from a number of European rivals for the highly-talented Isco, but Arsenal have already signed Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal from Malaga and could successfully raid the club a third time.

Arsenal are also said to be looking at Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic. The Daily Mail is suggesting Wenger is on the verge of making the Italian club an offer after asking his scouts for regular reports on the 23-year-old.

But the Montenegro international won't come cheaply, with Arsenal expected to offer at least £20 million to secure his signature.

Meanwhile, Manchester City's Joleon Lescott is desperate to depart the Etihad Stadium to reignite his international career after being left out of Roy Hodgson's recent England squad to face San Marino. According to the Daily Mail, though, City will be forced to take a giant £20 million loss if the 30-year-old does quit the reigning Premier League champions.

However, City manager Roberto Mancini is apparently willing to let Lescott go for a paltry £4 million as he looks to bolster his defensive stocks in the summer. City signed Lescott for £24 million from Everton in 2010.
