The calls for Arsene Wenger to leave Arsenal could soon be hushed, with a report in The Sun claiming that the Gunners boss is set to receive a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the helm until June 2016. Wenger's current deal runs out at the end of next season and a number of Arsenal supporters believe senior figures at the Emirates have been far too lenient with the Frenchman, insisting an eight-year trophyless run is unacceptable. The Sun newspaper claims Wenger will soon be offered a new deal as the board believe the club will benefit from Financial Fair Play in the near future.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Real Madrid have begun initial talks to lure Gareth Bale away from Tottenham next season. Real have reportedly asked Spurs for permission to match any rival bids in the summer and are tipped to make an offer in the region of £50 million for the Welshman. Tottenham and Real established a mutual partnership after Luka Modric joined the Spanish side last summer, but Los Blancos will have to fend off competition from a number of European clubs, including Bayern Munich, to secure Bale.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Southampton's Jason Puncheon could be heading for the exit door. The 26-year-old's contract expires in the summer and the Saints are apparently waiting to see whether they can avoid relegation before offering a new deal. West Ham and Newcastle have expressed interest in adding the winger to their ranks, it would seem, although Puncheon insists he is happy at St Mary's: "I am happy here and that is the most important thing."
